Re: Progress pics of my '68 GMC Extend-a-cab
That truck awesome. How bad was it to mount up the front sheet metal. I had thought abought doing the same thing with a newer frame because you can just cut off frame from the rear if it needs to be shorter if you use a 67 to 72 1ton and need it shorter you have to section the frame and take it out of the center.

Re: Progress pics of my '68 GMC Extend-a-cab
A few, just dropped a rebuilt 350 into her, took the truck away camping a few days after with our new trailer (which was necessitated due to the fact of the the birth of our twins last November) and took the truck to a Father's Day show and showed my son's Silverado beside my truck, he set up his chair beside it and talked up a storm and told everyone of how powerful it is now because he got a new battery. The twins still haven't had a ride in the truck seeing as though the extension wasn't enough to put their car seats in rear-ward facing, so it will be next summer for them to ride with dad, and the 4 year old is ok with that as Mommy and the babies follow in the Durango, which makes for an expensive time for me.

Re: Progress pics of my '68 GMC Extend-a-cab
Really sweet dually you have I have considered doing the whole extended cab thing with my C30 because I have the extended chassis and a longhorn bed that could go on it. However, I am a little afraid of grafting on another cab and potentially ruining my truck. How hard was it for you to do the transformation?

Re: Progress pics of my '68 GMC Extend-a-cab
I can take very little credit for the extend a cab as my talents wouldn't let me take it to that level, my father and one of his body men did all of the metal cutting, forming and filling. It was a long project but very worthwhile.

I hear you on that. I'm no body man although I would like to be How hard was it to put the five speed in the truck? Are you running a hydraulic clutch or the original? Any idea what kind of mileage your getting out of it with the OD? Just trying to figure out if it's worth the money for me to shell out in the event that I actually have that much at any given time

Man that is a cool truck. How hard was it to mount your cab on the 88-98 frame?

We've been enjoying the truck, camping alot and attending cruise nights and shows along the way. Great times, so glad that my family loves riding in the old girl as well.
