Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
DANG!.....just took a look at your build...not sure how I missed it (actually I had seen it....just not with paint on it yet). That thing is turning out beautiful......perfect stance and love the staggered wheel combo with perfect offsets......I came really close to ordering Coy's.
I'm pretty happy with mine and the way it turned out, (BTW....thanks very much for the compliment) but when I see your's with the staggered wheels and bagged suspension.......maybe I'm not quite done! Color really "pops" on your truck and looks like high quality paint and body work......you gotta be really excited to get it on the road. Quote:

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Oh you both suck, ya'll and your painted trucks that are practically done and being driven and all........
Hehe, both of yours are two of my biggest favs, along with John Fabris's ride.

Sactojim.... After a long time on switching colors your truck made me want to stay with blue. All of the crazy paint jobs out there and your Plain body looks the best.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
I understand Bob......there was a time when I thought others sucked too, but with time and patience, I eventually entered the "suck" club as well!
I have no doubt at all, that you will suck some day as well......but I fear that you will suck the most because of all the cool fab work you're doing on your project!!!......I imagine that *****en dash is just a small example of the build quality the rest of the truck will meet.

There isn't a any one of us that doesn't like a "pat on the back" for the time and effort involved in these crazy trucks!

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Elsie Jackson, Tony worked for me for a little while in the late 80's
and drove it to work a few times, nice job on the truck. I need to post some pictures of my trucks soon. Keep up the good work Steve |

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Small world!........I used to be on the railroad hand car team with Elsie many years back and was around when Tony wanted to get rid of it.....it was a very clean original truck with mostly original paint...that's why I bought it.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
Thanks!........It's a Weiand 142 and the most boost I've seen (when I've looked) is about 5 lbs. I think the blower is better suited for a 350 or smaller cube motor and is a little too small for a 383. I calculate that I'm seeing hp levels somewhere just north of 500 and the low end torque is awesome and it does make for a great street motor.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
I have said it before, but Jim's truck is my favorite on the whole site - actually, my favorite that I have ever seen. Perfect stance, incredible attention to detail, well thought- out drive train for power and driveability, finish is tastefully and impeccably done. It is what my dream truck would look lilke - I'm glad to see you were able to put yours together.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
messing around with the camera.....need some lessons from SeeTen. Took quite a few night shots and this is the only one that turned out half decent and it's still blurry.
Didn't realize how "Blue" the sky really was till I looked at the pics.

Re: 72 Cheyenne Build Thread
I now have a new background/screensaver for my computer. Absolutely sick. One of the nicest trucks I have seen on this board. I hope my Super turns out half as nice as your truck did. Very nice.
