Re: 59 Chevy Build
First I would like to say that truck is looking excelent, nice fab work! I have a question about these trucks as I am looking at one locally. How much room is in the cab? I am 6' tall 265 lbs. I am wondering if I will fit comfortably? mainly worried about leg room my knees kill if I am scrunched up. I see you have used newer style seats and steering column, must give a little room?? I would be doing something simular to your set up. There is a 58 step side close to me sitting neglected in a yard under a tree, been there for years. The woman didn't want to sell, but I heard from a friend that she may be considering it now. Not as nice as yours was to start, but really solid compared to anything we see here in the north east.

Re: 59 Chevy Build
I am 5'11" and weigh 220.................I don't find any problems with the lack of leg room. I still have the tank in the original location on this truck and it still feels comfortable.......................

Re: 59 Chevy Build
All it takes is money and giving up everything you normally like to do,..........I will be so glad just to get the bed on. I told my wife that this is the last vehicle I will build in this life.......this is not a hobby, it is an addiction,,...............be careful......

Re: 59 Chevy Build
i have a long list of projects i had over the yrs, oh and no matter what you say about it being the last project we highly doubt it, you will enjoy your fruits of your labor, for awhile and then you wil get the gitters and have to dig into another project, like you said its an addiction

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Cyan Jagaur,
Tire sizes are 235-40-18 front,285-30-20 rear.Judging by my experience in the wheel and tire business id say fronts are 18x8's with 4" backspacing. The rears I'd say 20x9.5"/10" with backspacing looking like 4.5-5". I do know I have the tire size right as i aked the question back on page 38-39.The wheel width and back spacing are just my guess' just helping to keep this post on top. This is a beautiful truck and the progress rate is amazing. This guy is awsome.Ill let him put me in line on the wheel demensions. Totally gorgeous! It sure looks great to have it out in the sunshine! The chrome and bright metal turned out real nice too.
