Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks
Here's some pics of my new Money Pit! when I first bought it in Feb 2010, it's a 1962 Step Side with a 235 hooked up to a Powerglide. The truck is in pretty good shape (new paint) just needs some upgrades. So far I've installed a new chrome '64 Grill, New Chrome Bumpers, some emblems, new interior stuff like a firewall pad, Rubber Mat,knobs and such... trying to keep it as Original as possible in the looks department. Will post new pictures soon after I get my new TAs & Rallys mounted. Working on putting a Power Disc Brake Conversion right now, LOWER BALL JOINTS ARE A *****!! Anyway still a work in progress.

Nice stepper you have there!! Yeah you can upgrade to a whole front cross member (salvage yard) for the price of those 2 lower ball joints

Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks
Tell me about it, I wish I'd known that before I decided to upgrade the spindles. The guy that owned it before me, or someone up the chain put Power Steering fluid or some kind of oil based product in the master cylinder, so I had to completely replace the whole brake system

If you do the subscription and become a site supporter you can post the spindles up for sale on here, im sure someone could use them. Just a thought if you do decide to go to disc. |

Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks
Welcome from Washington state, what a great looking truck. Very clean and straight. Should you decide to upgrade the front suspension here's a thread that covers both the front end and the various brake options:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=367260 The previous owner must have invested a lot of money and effort. Looking forward to seeing the new pictures with all the upgrades.

Re: Post Your 60-63 Body Style Chevy/GMC Trucks
Ya, I'm in the process right now, putting on 12" disc brakes with power booster, just waiting for 3/4"-20 die to chase out the treads on my Ball Joint, that I messed up pulling the old spindle. Hope to work on it this weekend! Thanks for the link, I'll check out how to DO IT THE RIGHT WAY

Now it's worth putting on here since it's starting to once again resemble one of these trucks.

Twiggy Any truck in any condition should make the picture thread, we learn so much from these pictures, like how nice it looks with that color you sprayed on.
