Re: 1970 GMC Stepside Redbuild
Glad to see your back with an update! The engine looks great too!
How are you doing on your paint job pricing? Just curious, I know the sky is the limit on a paint job. Sounds like you are picking out some nice paint. Keep at it |

Re: 1970 GMC Stepside Redbuild
Well since I know the guy really well, he told me 12$ an hour, to do some minor finish work then prime the whole thing and paint it. But I'm gonna help him with some of it. I figure thats a good price, whats ur opinion? Plus I already have the paint and stuff bought so...

Re: 1970 GMC Stepside Redbuild
Yeah I'm gonna try to learn some stuff while it gets done. Plus it will be sprayed in a booth too instead of in a garage. I thought it was a great price also. He told me that they're would be less than 20 hours of work left so...

Re: 1970 GMC Stepside Redbuild
Man, I hope I can line up a paint booth for our projects before we paint either one of them. I have painted many trucks on a dirt floor barn. It sucks trying to buff the grit out. I only got to paint a few in a booth and it was awesome. you can actually see what your painting and dust particles are very minimal. Keep the pics coming!

Re: 1970 GMC Stepside Redbuild
Hey thought of something...
Could you run your (+) cable under that fender? I may try it also....It'd look alot cleaner. That motor is sharp...my under hood area is greasy and dirty yours looks great....wanna come make mine look perdy?

Re: 1970 GMC Stepside Redbuild
I'd say that it could be run between the fender and inner fender. I need to spend more time on the outside of the truck, instead of under the hood. Thanks

Re: 1970 GMC Stepside Redbuild
Mitch,
Things are looking good, I like the idea of a painted grill on that GMC. I'm looking forward to seeing how you finish off the bed. I'm currently in the middle of installing my under bed tank. Where did you get your filler neck, cap and hose from?
