Re: Senior Project Build

Looks great! I don't know about the 2" blocks....looks like they would rub....but would be worth a shot....just keep in mind it will raise up the front a little when you lower the rear.

Re: Senior Project Build

Nice! I think the fronts need a bit more sidewall though.

Re: Senior Project Build

Ya I was debating on the sidewall, those are 65's, I was thinkin about going up to 70's but they cost more. I really want it lower, I don't know if I can get it lower with the meats in back though. I would compensate by cutting a small portion of spring out of the front, then the tires might look better, they would be closer to the fender. Thanks for the props guys

Re: Senior Project Build

Do you guys have any ideas on how I could simulate a 2 inch drop without tearing the suspension apart yet?

Re: Senior Project Build

Lucky,
Just a little memo they work great in the rain. and also keep the weight of the rear when your not driving it or it will be a rough ride for a few miles.
Looks like we well be hitting that track hard and soon.

Go to the junk yard and wack off the ends of the trailling arms to put under the axle.

Re: Senior Project Build

Thanks for the replies, but I am just going to finish building the blocks, if they don't work, I can give them to someone on here. And thanks for the tip about keeping the weight off.

Re: Senior Project Build

You can put a chain under your floor jack and bolt it to each frame rail in the back. Then jack up under the axle diff and you will compress the suspension (actually you are raising the axle but not actually lifting the truck). I have done this before but you have to be careful.

You could just add some heavy items in the bed until it lowers 2" as well.

Re: Senior Project Build

Heres a couple random shots of the motor, I have it up for sale right now, and already have several interested people. As soon as I sell this one off I can actually acquire a 6 liter take out.
