Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Not much to report in the way of progress, but I did manage to get all the axles detached from the frame yesterday. The frame is ready to send off to the blaster now!

The frame is all loaded up and ready to head off to the blaster. I'll be taking it over this week.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Thanks! No new progress other than I took the frame down to the blasters on Friday. I'm hoping to have it back late this week or early next week.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Thanks!!! Yeah, that's my plan. I'm either going to use the VHT Rollbar and Chassis or Eastwood Extreme Chassis Black. I have to wait for it to warm up around here before I can paint it though.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Great work! I'm trying to decide if I want to box my frame now before I paint my frame. I can't decide though. I'm leaning towards no since these frames are pretty tough any way. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Yeah, if I decided to box my frame, that would probably add another 20 yrs onto my build

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Not much in the way of progress today. I did clean up the garage a little so I will actually be able to work on it. I'm going to be calling my local 4 wheel parts tomorrow to see how much their 4" lifts are. I decided to snap a shot while it was in the sunlight

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
It's weird it has been like spring with a few colder than spring days. What lift did you go with?

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
I ended up going with the Tough Country 4" HD all spring lift & Nitro shocks. I have heard a lot of people that are happy with them, and it was a decent price (at least I thought )

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
That's what I've been running lately, except the shocks. My plans are to buy them though, for them all soon.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
I didn't really know what shocks to get, but our local 4 Wheel Parts told me that he thought the Nitros would be a better choice for my 3/4 ton...so, that's what I went with. SDTruckSprings.com actually had a few sales going on including free shipping, so I got it all for just over 1K to my door. Here's hoping

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
I was going to actually get something done today, when I realized that I didn't purchase new bushings for the front shackle hangers (I know..you experienced guys are thinking "really?") So, I decided to just try and clean up my "new" front axle. Something made me decide to turn the hubs in just for fun, just to find out that the driver's side axle is snapped. DAMN! Oh well, I need to replace the ball joints anyway, so I'll just do that then. Not how I planned for this day to go.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Wish I had more time for my build, but everyone elses seem to get in the road of mine, but helps to buy parts for mine and trade a few too, just takes a bit longer, keeps Momma happier, Haha. I will live thru your build for a while.
