Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!
little update, im still waiting on the engine enamel, ordered some harland sharp 1.7 rockers, measured the pushrods and ordered them. ive been kindly asked to stop buying truck parts for a while, so im going to need to concentrate on things that are more affordable than say, porterbuilt tubular a-arms/ridetech coilovers, building my 4l80e/getting a converter, building my 9", efi intake/rails/injectors, corvette front acc drive... etc... and concentrate on things i can fab myself and do for lighter cost. going to start by finishing the fabrication and crossmembers for the frame/suspension, then move on to cab and box bodywork. the camaro should be out of the garage end of april, so at that time i will bring my truck over.
reason being...... in the summer of 2011 i asked a beautiful, patient, and understanding girl to marry me, and we've just recently set a date for sept 2013 and now have to start saving up. for those of you thinking "oh no, now the trucks never going to get done" please understand, i say she's patient and understanding for a reason haha. figured id attach a pic of the happy couple, this is at the disney store in new york. |

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!
yeah, the k member is out of the camaro right now getting cleaned up and new parts installed. really interested to see how everything fits, or if they fit at all. already have to trim the motor mounts just to get the headers on the motor.

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!
well life is a learning experience, and the lesson i learned today is either better research or dont build a motor in stages haha. went to finish the top end off yesterday, was all excited, soaked the pushrods, assembly lubed em, went to bolt up the rockers and noticed they are touching the head at the tuip with the pushrod cup. now ive got to take the heads off, get some new gaskets and clearence the head for the rockers... booo. haha. heres a pic of the contact.

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!
yeah, believe they were adverised as direct bolt in, as most aftermarket rockers interfere with the valve covers. dont seem to touch the covers at all, but definitly hitting the head. this is assuming i got my pushrod measurement right, which im hoping so cause i followed the directions exactly and even went as far as checking each valve.

Re: 69 c10 -- first project!!
stock is 7.40"...what did you come up with? I originally measured mine at either 7.350" or maybe it was 7.375".... and later changed to 7.40" because they were noisy.
