Re: Show your motor..73-87
What is that infront of the carb and at the bottom left with hoses coming out? A/C or a compressor?

Re: Show your motor..73-87
That's sweet! I had a 454 sniffing LPG in a rock crawler that was STRONG! I love propane! So east to tune.

Re: Show your motor..73-87
It is the propane compressor and mixer. its a 454 with bluebird bus heads, impco l mixer, comp. mid level cam, lumpy crank, flat top racing pistons,th400 and down thru to d60s with 3 73s. bout 15000 invested so far. ground up rebuild. it makes 365hp at the rear and the engine was static dynod for 550hp. just need another mixer to unleash the ponys.

Re: Show your motor..73-87
One day I will regale you with the story of how my truck earned the name Piso and try to impart the level of my frustration when I managed to coast it to its current resting spot. Add to that the birth of my daughter, self employment + full time corporate job, home improvements, and another expensive hobby, it happened. Hard to believe it's been that long though. I'm ready to roll it again, big time.

They look like old Cal Customs from before PCV setups became the norm. You can see newer versions here.

Bone stock 454 with 9500 miles.
Bone stock 4.1 with 91000 miles. What a difference!
