Re: El Chingon

Yea I got it back on sat. It looked a little rough to me for what I paid. I am a picky guy when It comes to someone elses work. I am smoothing things over a little before I take it to ge media blasted. I am going to have them coat it in epoxy primer and then coat the bottom of the truck in a coating that they recommend.

Re: El Chingon

You may get one of them, I guess $450.00 is to rich for these fire pits. I cant even get a spark of interest in these things. I have over $325.00 in just parts in them. I need to start getting my sells pitch together i guess...

Re: El Chingon

Since they sell the el-cheapo versions for around 100 at the box stores (actually almost bought one with a lid on clearance last winter for $50)....you're going to have to explain why that's better (it is) and will last more than one season outside... really like the swing-away top and the wheels for easy moving...

Took your advise and snapped some really nice pictures with details of the build, got two of them out the door. Craigslist works if you work it.

Re: El Chingon

If I can keep selling them, I am going to keep building them. Fixing to expand the line to smokers, and bbq pits. I am also going to get into some hunting racks and reciever hitch stuff.

No problem, that is why I post it, sure does help cut down on the searching and hunting. Seems like i search for parts more then I install them.

Re: El Chingon

Fixin to get cranked back up on this project. Got the tank trimmed in the corner to clear the Porterbuilt panhard bar. Got to run the fuel lines from the tank to the motor. Going to run aluminum hard lines all the way to the front of the frame and go to soft line to fuel rail.

Re: El Chingon

Also picked up a gauge cluster from a guy in houston that bought it from another guy in houston. They both said it was to blingy for them, I agree and will powder coat the dash bezel black and leave the edge polished.

Re: El Chingon

Also drove to Atlanta to pick up a long bed box with wood floor. It also has a factory tool box and auxilary tank in it. I think it is going to be pretty cool sitting on the ground with the tool box and factory aux. tanks.

Re: El Chingon

Picked up a dual fan setup from Hart Rod and it is nice. What are we doing about the steam line with a factory radiator with an LS swap? Like it to be nice and clean. Thanks Daniel

Re: El Chingon

Well finally came up with a solution to my tank mounting problem. The fastener pictured is called a "plus nut". They work like a molly bolt and compress into the hole. I wanted to be able to drop the tank with the bed on. They work pretty darn slick.

Re: El Chingon

Well finally got some time to work on the truck a little. Got the floor cut out for the high hump and installed the Sanderson headers on the LS motor. They fit like a glove with the LS and Dropmember combo. Had to shave one of the block lugs a little but no biggy. First thing that has fit without a total redo of the product.
