Re: Legacy build
Very nice build, I like the aluminum switch mount you built under the dash. Flows well with the instrument cluster and glove box. Very nice color scheme also.

Re: Legacy build
No, not gonna make it this year. Take lots of pics! Keeping my fingers crossed that you have it all figured out. Would be horrible to get stranded in the desert this time of year (I know, I've been there!)

Re: Legacy build
LOVE the valve covers!
I almost went with orange, too. But with an all orange truck, it would've been too much orange. Then I was going to go with black, but with the black fenderwells, they would've gotten lost. So I chickened out and went the conservative route and got the silver. I've gotten a lot of compliments on mine and I'm sure you will, too!

Re: Legacy build
Some Pics for Rick Sherman.
These are the front mounts. The area that is turned down is where the thin clip on the front goes. I have seen others just widen the clip with a grinder, so they dont have to do the turned down part. The two holes drilled are for the original mount holes in the truck. Once I had them bolted down, I drilled another on the other end. I have more pics, just not on this computer. I will try to find the rear mounts, and installed pics. |

Re: Legacy build
Thanks!
It looks like a few board members are using these seats. Thanks for taking the time to post the pics. Did you turn those down in a lathe? Rick

Re: Legacy build
Nice work man, I really like the way it turned out. I have been putting a lot of thought into turning my c-10 into a 4x4 and I think you just convinced me its a good idea lol. So its just the regular coil suspension just over the axle now, and a 4" front leaf?

Unfortunately when I met you at the Brothers show I had not read this build thread yet, I would have looked closer at the cool things you fab'd up like the dash panel and the fan shroud, great work. Glad you made it to and from Anaheim

Happy to help!
The center seat will be very different on yours, so I did not show it. Hope you enjoy your seats! |

Re: Legacy build
Alot of people have been asking about my hood lock. Sorry I did not remember the name of it at the shows, but here it is...
Amazon.com: Megatronix - HL6 - 6 Foot Mechanical... Look below, they make a 7' cable if you want it in the center. |

Re: Legacy build
I had the truck all cleaned up for Goodguys, and decided to take some pics of it. Ended up taking it to the snow, and getting it all muddy Off to clean it again...

Re: Legacy build
I need to make a retractable mount for the KC's. The roll bar clears the garage door by 1".

Re: Legacy build
What a work of art. Amazing truck, amazing story, and amazing fab work! I am getting ready to do the same conversion on my c20. What all did you do to the rear to raise it up?

I'm starting to enjoy it more. At first, I was afraid to scratch it Now it has a few dings, so I don't feel so bad. Just over 3000 miles on it, need to drive it more. I'm keeping an eye out for a place to do some FAUX rockcrawling |

Re: Legacy build
Been a while since I have done much to the truck. Having too much fun driving it My girlfriend likes to wear heels, so the steps had to change a little. I sat down at the mill, and whittled out some heel friendly steps.
