Re: My 85 chevy c10 build
Lol thats what I'm trying to figure out..I def wouldn't want to be in it going up and down like that....down is not so bad...its up that scares me...im trying to get some feedback in how to tone.it down or if its supposed to be like that...im told when the engine and tranny and bed on with shocks it will change it a little....I think u can put stuff on to slow it down..

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build
Are all the air lines and valves ran?
Line size, valve size, and weight of the truck determine the bag fill speed. How are the valves plumbed from the tank? I would leave it as it is (unless it has crazy big valves, 3/4" or bigger) until you get everything on the truck. If its still to fast then, you can put some type of restriction/regulator in the feed lines or in the lines to the bags. Do you have plastic lines? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build
Alright...so can anyone tell me if this oil pan is going to sit below the frame so when its aired out I'm going to have problems? And also what kind of fuel pressure does the 5.3 vortec need and what is a good fuel pump?? Thanks

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build
I dont remember what mounts
you are using, but mine sits just about even with the bottom of the crossmember. I will gone most of the day but will snap a pic when i get back. You need 65 psi on the fuel pressure. What tank are you using? If stock do your self a favor and run the intank pump, the fuel keeps the pump cool. Use a 87-91 tank with the baffles and sending unit for the same years.

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build
Thanks moose!!
Update: engine mounts worked awesome and the motor is in! The trans pan does sit about an inch below the crossmember so I'm gonna have to figure something out there...just waiting to wire it up. Get the pc redone...fuel pump , regulator, fuel lines and trans lines. IMAG0381 by catkinson896, on Flickr IMAG0381 by catkinson896, on Flickr Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My 85 chevy c10 build
I used the radiator and cooler lines from the donor on mine. Might be something to look at.

Heck yeah I will do that. Did you use the transmission cooler too? Or is that small looking one I took off for the ac? Also did you leave the fan or did u go electric? Did the radiator fit or did u fab it in somehow?

I used a hole saw to drill 2 holes in the bottom of the radiator support for the stock radiator tabs to sit in. I used the stock trans cooler thats made in the radiator, i will probably ad a secondary cooler later on. You will need to make some spacers to go between the radiator support and the radiator at the top mounting points. I used the stock engine driven fan for now, i will change to stock electric later on. I used as much of the orginal stuff from the donor as i could so if i was off some where and had trouble any parts store should have parts to fix it.
