Re: hotrod-c10

I believe Northern Tool has those same paint strippers for alittle cheaper than Lowes or HD. Being a avid shopper at Northern....

I used similair strippers but they only last about an area of a fender/door...on my passed experiences

+1 for the grinder paint strippers. I used them on my door and they work great.

One thing to remember with these, or any other tool used for similar purpose, is
to not spend too much time in one spot. Doing so may cause the metal to heat
up too much and could cause the metal to warp.

Re: hotrod-c10

Ya man, I'm in the middle of a floor pan replacment myself. Very time consuming. Workin almost everyday trying to get it done before i have to deploy.

I'm sorry to say this but I would expect that your existing cab it screwed. If so you could always use the metal for patching holes. Thats what I'm doing with my old floor. You might have some trouble lining up the Floor with the cab on the front unless your buying an original and not a refab. I got a refab and it's taking prying a beating to get it to sit right.

The high hump is really gaudy, good choice on replacing that. The low hump is a much smoother look to me.

Keep up the good work, hope so see more from you soon!

Re: hotrod-c10

not much going on , my alternator wasn't charging the battery. new batt, alt , solenoid , starter etc .. my neighbor across the street, sergio also a member suggested that since the brackets were powder coated maybe i should run a ground wire off the alt , i did and he was right , everything now charging, i haven't had a chance to tell him yet . thanks sergio.. also filled the trans full of fluid wired the trans brake and filled the rear end housing with grease. ran it thru the gears on jack stands and everything seems to work may take a while to save for rear brakes thats next unless something else cuts in line . also met a guy with flawless stripping said he would blast my truck minus bed and doors for $550.00 i think thats fair but hes the only one Ive checked with............keep on trucking..jw

Yep, that alt. should be self grounding to the bracket.
If you don't want the wire connected, just scuff the bracket where it bolts up.
Doubt you'd see it when installed. Keep on truckn' mighty
