Re: Farmers big block
Three years ago yesterday I started these thread besides a few little things she's DONE .
In the last week I have built new rear bumper brackets, built brackets to mount seat belts, fix leaks, mounted the new wheels and tires, trimmed the rear fender lips needed more tire room and a whole lot of little things and they take the longest to do. The last three years on these site has been great. I have learned a lot and got a lot of great help. I will post the final pictures as soon as the wife shows me how to do it. The site will not let me do it like I have in the past. Are first show will be The GoodGuy's in Puyallup WA if your there come by and let's talk trucks Thanks for the help Keith |

Re: Farmers big block
That's a beautiful "farm truck" you've got there, the final product is worth all the time and things to overcome. I've been to that show in Puyallup a couple times. My poor brain was overheating the whole time, and a big grin on my face the whole time. Never been to any show that big or that good. The fairgrounds are beautiful throughout, and I met a lot of cool people there. Even the diner across the street from the front gate for breakfast was good. Next time I go, I think I will go the week previous and go on the shop and collection tours. Enjoy your new ride, and the start of a long love affair with it.

Re: Farmers big block
Congrats!
Your build thread was one of my "go to" threads whenever I logged on to the site, hoping that posted up anything new. The truck turned out beautiful, and you are deserving of the award! The feeling of finally getting one done is victory enough, and getting an award at a show as prestigious as Goodguys makes it even better. Are you a Goodguys member? If so, you'll be seeing a color picture of your truck in next month's Goodguys Gazette. The Gazette is a great "Members Only" magazine that I look forward to each month.

Re: Farmers big block
I thought I would post some final pictures of my build. It's been almost 4 years from the day I pulled her into the shop. She's been on the road for the last month or so. We have been to (3) show's and have received (3) awards.
This web site has been a great source for info. This site has been invaluable for me not only saving money, but also time. I want to thank all of you for responding to my numerous inquiries and maybe I can help someone with their project. I might be going to a new project which will take me to a different year category on this website. My wife's grandfather has a 1942 Chevy 1 1/2 ton that maybe I can make it my next build and make it really cool! |

Re: Farmers big block
Thanks for sharing the final pictures and congrats on the awards. Your build is an inspiration to all of us working on ours. Your truck is one of the top builds I have seen.
Good luck on the next project, sounds like fun! My Dad is now wanting me to work on his 1928 Chevy National Series AB car after my build is done. I think it would be fun to dive into something that old. If you do decide to take on the 1942 build please post here on your build thread. I would love to follow along.

Re: Farmers big block
Very nice throughout. I have been following your build for quite a while now. Congrats on the Chevy truck award, well deserved. That is quite a feather in your hat at a quality show like that. I hope to come down there next year with mine, I'd like to meet and shoot the breeze for a while. I am doing a similar thing as yours on my tailgate lettering. I'm not trying to copy anyone, I just like the idea and have had it planned for a while now. Enjoy your ride, it is beautiful.

Re: Farmers big block
Shortly after seeing your post about doing your bed wood, I had a guy stop by to commission me to do some artwork for some wood clocks he makes... Long story short, I ended up with this Cross Clock made out of Purple Heart wood... Just thought it was kinda cool and had to share...
