Re: Parked Indefinite
I just bought the same wheels. 20x8.5 with 255/35/20 nexen tires. Wish I would have went with a taller sidewall. What size tires are those? They look really good.

Re: Parked Indefinite
Tires are 275/45/20 on 8.5 rims. Probably going to have to find a shorter/narrower tire for the front eventually, as they get a little close to the fenders(3/4" or so) when turned all the way.

Re: Parked Indefinite
Maybe I could swap out a pair of my 255/35s for a pair of yours to put on the back, then you would have a pair to pur on the front. wink wink.

Re: Parked Indefinite
Yaaaaay!!! An update! Great build, I am having a blast following it. That you take your time, think things out, and tinker with everything yourself is awesome. (At least that is hot it looks.) Really like you work on the pedestals and inner fenders. Bed floor is really nice too.

I'm currently burdened with the monotony of sanding away the faults of each layer that is put down, then adding another...but I think I'm close...In the next day or so, I hope to have it all one shade. Here's a shaky walk around of where I'm at: |

Thanks man, just about there Seeing as the stock fan and shroud were going to be a bit of a chore to fit back in, I decided to harvest the electric fan from my nova. A brief once over revealed that there was a suitable void in between the intercooler and radiator, so the installation was set to begin. Pics: |

Re: Parked Indefinite
I'm just about done with putting everything back together, just a few minor things left to figure out. I managed to take the thing for a maiden blast up the road today and it went alright I guess. Definitely have to get use to driving this old truck again, as she's pretty raw and barbaric compared to bone stock 95 chevy 2500 I've been driving lately. Seemed to run alright, but its going to need some tuning to take care of some bogs, hesitation, etc. I didn't get on it too much, but couldn't help myself from trying to spool the turbos up a little...man I love that sound! Felt pretty strong as soon as it started to make boost, can't wait to get 'er dialed in so I can push it some more. Anyways, I think I've rambled on enough, so here's a few pics as of today:

Re: Parked Indefinite
Thanks man!
You got that right Bomp! There's still some ripples and junk here and there, but it's the nicest this truck has been in awhile. Well...it's insured and back on the road! Took it out for a bit of a cruise tonight and for the most part it went great...was awesome to be driving something cool again. I was worried about a few things like the 275's rubbing up front, the exhaust being too loud, leaks, all the heat from the turbo setup causing the potential for fire, etc...but all my worries went away after some time at the helm. The tires never hit, the exhaust sounds great, and while the thing puts out the heat, it's nowhere near hot enough to cause concern. I'm happy Here's some videos from today's venture: Last edited by Desperado454; 05-20-2013 at 03:08 AM. |
