Re: Great deal on new crate engine
No, they're not run, you have to break them in with the correct oil, etc.
The warranty is supposed to be 3yr 36K if replacing a 350, it's supposedly only 1 yr 12 months if you replace a "non 350" engine with it (like a straight 6), but as far as they know... your old 350 blew up And no, mine is still covered in plastic in the garage. My 3 yr warranty might run out before I even install it! I'm going to make a video with stuff with the current date with the engine on a stand with the ID tag, etc before I install it, just in case. I've knocked out a ton of projects since I bought the motor. I bought it to replace the low compression smoking 350 in my truck now, but the damn thing keeps running good, so I haven't "had" to do it.

Re: Great deal on new crate engine
I used the Joe Gibbs break in oil that I purchased at NAPA.

Re: Great deal on new crate engine
Thread revival!!
If anyone is looking, Radley Chevrolet in Virginia has the 10067353 small block crate engines for $1675 with free shipping. I just bought one from them and the engine looks great. Save $400 over the new iteration of the 350 that Summit and Jegs sells. |
