Re: High School Project Build II
I like the idea of getting the complete vehicle, especially if you retain the factory computer and such. There's sooo very much stuff on the market to convert a LS into anything. I favor hooking it up the factory way. GM made the best drivetrain stuff, period, don't have to even say a word about the engine. Not many folks insane enough to do this w/ a stink'n dodge or ford...

Re: High School Project Build II
The LS engine family is impressive for many reasons. As one example, look at this cylinder wall in a 5.7 from an 02 Firebird with 160k. No ring ridge and the cross hatch is still visable.

Re: High School Project Build II
Fab work on our top rear shock brackets and using a front shock on the rear
This will help get a better angle for the shock

Awsome trick i learned it from a exhaust shop i worked at after school back in the day. Things like this can't be found in book but can be learned from a true craftsman .great job passing down the tech tips like this one.

Re: High School Project Build II
You might as well fabricate new engine perches from scratch because the amount of work is about the same by the time you hack up the originals and re-work them.

The Yukon driveshaft was 1" to long - so we changed out to an old style yoke and it fit perfect
