Re: Rodstored-72's 1986 DD build
l am enjoying driving the truck & am now able to start on the interior. I am switching the interior from the factory maroon color to black - I think it looks much better. I made a call to LMC and a week later I had the upper trim pieces for the headliner. The headliner was purchased from Jeg’s… yes the racing parts store….LOL!! hard to beat a sale & free shipping. The headliner is black ABS, I feel that would be the best for the Arizona heat. I also purchased some DEI headliner insulation to help with the heat coming from the roof. The trim installation went ok, as anything aftermarket there was a good amount of finageling and adjusting, but overall the pieces were going into position. The hardest piece was the driver’s rear trim piece, needs to be modified to fit the exterior light switch (bed light). Once I tested the trim I then turned my attention on the headliner. I am not sure how/what I am going to do related to materials…. Mostly everything will be leather, but still thinkin’ on the headliner, so for now I am just installing everything so the interior will be all black. I unfortunately did not think to take pictures, but the installation of the pieces is really straight forward. The really only difficult install was the headliner….. mainly cause I was by myself.

Re: Rodstored-72's 1986 DD build
The headliner install was a lot more involved. Overall the piece is nice and I think looks good. The relief cutouts for the screw locations were pretty close, I only had to make minor adjustments for them. My truck originally had a headliner so the holes were already made. The difficult part was just holding it in place to screw the trim piece and headliner into the hole… which you are not able to see… aarrgg. The DEI matting didn’t help either (thickness). I watched a few install videos and had an idea, but kevin Tetz makes everything look easy… LOL!! after a few words and finally caving to ask the wife for a helping hand the trim & headliner are installed for now. I will dis-assemble once I have better plan of how I really want it, but I atleast I have all the pieces now. Including the best part… the TKCR renewed seatbelts. I decide to splurge and spend the extra money on getting her seatbelts. The belts are well worth the price difference. I did make sure I took a few pictures of them. She was able to take my old bench seat belts and give me a set of black belts that were for bucket seats. I can honestly say that the belts look much better and operate very smoothly. They look like original black & look new as well. If you are looking for replacements or change in color please give her a note (FB or here). Now for the pics….

Re: Rodstored-72's 1986 DD build
tina, thanks!! was not expecting credit. I am very happy with the belts, install was easy & a bonus was the "caps" over the bolts for the latches (middle pieces).

Re: Rodstored-72's 1986 DD build
I changed the interior color from Burgundy to Charcoal right away after buying the truck. It just took a little while because I did it in stages over time.
