Changed the oil. I know that is boring but it had to be done.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I installed a tach kit today. My truck didn't come with a tach originally. Also took it to a show after I cleaned it up.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well I finished putting my rear brakes back together and filled my diff with fluid. What a pita it was getting the fill plug out, somebody put a cast plug in for the original, it wouldn't budge so it broke into several different pieces. Had to heat it with a torch to get it out. Then I finished the routing the pipes on my side exhaust where they exit in front of the tires and grinded down all the welds.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Crazy thing about those '59 dashes...as wide as they were, don't you have to narrow it to put it in our trucks? There's a guy near here who put a dash from a '59 Edsel in his '68. He had to widen it to make it fit.

I said that because I remember how wide they seemed to be when they were new. Dad bought a '59 Ford, while my cousin bought a '59 Impala HT. When I started driving, it was on the Ford.

Back in the day, there was some scuttle about having to add marker lights on the fins of the Chevy. Seems it was just under the width limit.

Oh, I like it.

But, on my truck...son and I reattached the engine cross member and the trailing arms. Waiting on the upper/lower control arms so we can get some ball joints and start that phase. But, we worked on it for a change.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Belive it or not I had to add about 5" to the dash but that could of been from the way it was cut out of the donor car. It was a ebay deal, Next time I will ask for more pic. for sure. I leaarned to drive a stick in an old impala in the driveway .So It will be cool to look at that dash again ! But I have a long way to go to be driving this one

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Ordered some parts last night, to get my motor really tuned in. Right now its just a little rich lol. Ordered a jet and rod kit for my Edelbrock 650 Thunder series carb, a timing tape, and some distributer advance weights and springs for the MSD HEI on my motor, oh and a vaccum gauge. Hope to lean out the idle so your eyes dont water when you stand beside it, and get some better gas mileage and get rid of the bog down when I put my foot to the floor. Gonna be a high octane weekend with some high speed blasts down a back road doing test and tune

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Actually it was yesterday. Installed new set of MSD Ignition 8.5mm Super Conductor plug wires. Way better than the cheapo Accel Super Stockers I had in there before.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I haven't got much work done on the K10, sorry guys. I got busy with a transmission swap in my Monte Carlo. Hope to get the SS all sanded down and primed this weekend, then back to the Blazer gas tank install

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Finally took the cab ALL the way off of my frame so I can start the body work. Got all of my pulleys shimmed and lined up. Stuffed my dip stick and tube in my transmission. Fell off a ladder. Cleaned up my garage.
