Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Thanks for checking in guys... Clem, you called it... Managers are all in St.Louis for annual conference. I'm training for and filling Asst. Manager position, plus this is week before annual inventory... Busy starts to describe... Thanks Rian for replying to TJ...
Also having Tax time fun, crunching tattoo studio numbers for accountant, Fun, Fun, Fun... just like smashing same thumb twice hammering in a nail... TJ... Hey Brotha, will try to call later today or tomorrow... Finally... One of my customers brought by this sweet '53 sitting on a S10 frame sporting a 4.8L LS... Hey Clem, this is the truck that started the ball rolling for another guy, who was the reason behind my call to you... Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Small update for today...
After getting the truck road-worthy and finally getting the wiper arm mods done, when I turned the wiper switch... Nothing... So when I went to pull the wire off the back to determine power availability the whole terminal came with the wire... So today I pulled the OEM switch and replaced it with a push-pull switch... Ran one side to ground and the wiper power wire to the other and BOOOM! I now have wipers.... Here's a pic of the old switch... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Small back story on the '53... It was originally purchased by the owner's dad as a farm truck... Model 3600... Keeping it in the family, He's already turned down cash offers since getting it in the road a month ago...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Car Show Season is upon us Brothers and Sisters!
I worked this past Monday (Usual days off are Sundays and Mondays) in order to attend the first local show of the season... Then my wife decided I needed a couple more days off for some needed time to accomplish Honey-dooz... so Saturday began a stretch of 5 days off... I drove the Stepper and had a relaxing Saturday hanging with like minded folks, some old friends and a few new ones as well... Here's the Stepper upon arrival... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr This sweet bagged '65 belongs to Zach, a fellow member here and on a FB group here in Arkansas... He walked up and introduced himself saying he knew my truck from the FB group... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr He's currently searching for a Big Back glass... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr A couple more of the Stepper in the line-up... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr The gentleman seated in this picture bought this 1924 F%&d TT Truck in 1979 and it is a completely original unrestored survivor. He drives it around town and it boasts a top speed of 30mph. Very cool to see him hand crank it to start the flat 4... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Finally, Parked next to Zach's '65 was this '63 Impala sporting a RamJet 502 Big Block!!! Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Have a great Spring and Summer Guyz!!!

Well, once again, life has stepped in causing a small change in the gravitational pull around the old homestead... Here's a parting shot of the '60 Apache off to it's new home...
Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr On a brighter note, tomorrow I'll get some truck time in on the stepper... Update coming...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
TRUCK TIME!!!
Life's been attempting to kick me around, but I'm not accepting that... Finally found some time to install a new carb, The one I had was a used flabby special that I rebuilt twice and after having no luck decided to replace... After the installation was complete the Stepper fired right up and is running like a champ. On to the pics... Old carb, oxidized and looking rough, ready to retire... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr New Carb and new Choke cable ready to begin duty... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr New carb hooked up and ready... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr The Stepper fired right up, adjusted the idle and moved it in order to do some needed yard work... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Got a friend coming by later to help fine tune and ensure it's road ready... Ready to drive to work tomorrow... Here's a shot of a local 17yo, and his daily driver, passing me Friday after work... Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Untitled by Donald Olivo, on Flickr Laterz and thanx for checking in...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
New carb! Crustine is getting due for a new eddy....this one has a flat spot when the engine is at operating temp. I think the accelerator is worn out. Carb is 5 years old and now daily driven for almost 1 year. Good to see an update brother!
