Bought some YOM plates for my 67. Found out in CO you only have to run YOM plates on the back and the registration is free. Pretty killer.

Installed L6 250 real air cleaner, not some chrome crap.
Replaced all windshield washer hoses and tested system.
Final step on hidden sound system.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Well, it wasn't today, but I've made progress on the engine. Turns out the valves were not the issue, the lifters were, so out they came, along with the stock cam.

New cam should arrive tomorrow, and then it's on to the heads.
The double humps still need a rebuild, but I have a set of TBI heads that will work for the time being, just need to clean them up and put them on.

Painted the bottom of my cab with Kirker Inferno Red Metallic with clear on top. Used a cheapo Harbor Freight gun. The picture makes the color look burnt orange for some reason.

Your cab bottom looks better than some guys cab top. Looks good.

Might seem like a dumb question but how did you go about putting your cab on its back without bending the cab corners ? I plan to undercoat my bottom, but worry that if I just roll it backwards I could bend the new cab corners.

I lifted mine through the cab doors.

There is a type of beam you can buy to use a engine hoist.

I have a cheap gantry (Northern tool) and used two 2x4's bolted together through the door openings(rags wraped around the 2x4's to protect the paint, a strap around the ends and a friend to guide the process.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

All I got done today (yesterday) was to prime and top coat my once very rusty passenger side grill bracket. I won't use it over but I'll hang onto it as a spare. I also top coated a heater box piece, albeit the wrong color! That's how tired I am after welding class....but it won't be seen so it's OK. I also got my hood bumper bolts apart....took their nuts off.

Added a new rear bumper and new bumper brackets. It doesn't seem to look right though. Brand new premium bumper. Doesn't it look like it is angled down? Is this right?

Any chance it is a Fleetside bumper? Or brackets are on the wrong side R&L. Never mounted a Stepside bumper, but that doesn't look right. Beautiful Truck!
