Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Lakeroadster,

What brand filler is that? I prefer a lightweight evercoat product, it sands so easy compared to others that is rock hard. They also make a finish product called icing that is applied over primer ( or filler, it just will not stick to metal) that makes finish bodywork and blocking a breeze. Well, in comparison anyway....

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

After rebuilding 230 and refitted it with new clutch, started it today ran in camshaft and adjusted valve clearance, very happy now I've gotta sort out why brakes have failed. New shoes and rubber lines worked a treat for a few weeks now all of a sudden pedal goes to floor.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Got the entire dash Painted. It had to be painted first so it could be masked off when the rest of the cab gets done. The grey top looks killer INHO.

You know it hasn't cross my mind yet. I picked it up few weeks ago from some young kid down the block for 900 bucks. it was flat black. My wife likes the color blue, but leaning towards omaha orange or hugger orange. For now its a daily driver while i work on it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

This is a great thread - I'll play today: installed inside bed latches for tail gate so no more ugly chains (still have to cut off old chain latches, weld holes etc.), and finally finished cleanup/priming on replacement nose pieces to go on later.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I worked on my bed. Grinded the old rusty strips off, started sanding and priming the bed and will put new strips on tomorrow. Not a whole lot.

Put the gas tank in. 19 gallons from CPP. Fits good but a pain to drill the holes.

Sealed holes in cab floor, installed sound deadener (from The Truck Shop) and did some more body work on the Camaro dash.

We went to the car wash, since the sun was out and is wasn't raining. Met a guy there who had a 65 Step. Pretty nice truck, except the camper shell.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

the other day i rode over to alabama & picked up the 455 buick that i bought while i was in afghanistan. today i checked and it was ALMOST locked up. a half a can of pb & lots of rocking back & forth & now she turns just fine. will see what she looks like with the heads off later but for now this will have to do. turned out to be a '72 single exhaust, prolly outta an electra or something. it should push the old '66 great!
