Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
Well I finally discovered that Grant makes a steering wheel the same color and metalflake content as my dark blue shift knob. It's model number 8466. I first saw it on ebay, so I went of to Summit Racing and found the same wheel for less money. So I picked one up, and repainted the GMC emblem on the glove box dark metallic blue to match. I'll post a pic of that later on. Here's the wheel and knob together:

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
The blue Mooneyes wheel I had used was so light colored it was almost transparent and I wasn't all that happy with it.

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
Man, I love that blue. Perfect match in my opinion to break up the all black and chrome a bit

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
Dig the new, blue steering wheel! Blue is my favorite color though.

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
This is really sad.
Mark and I used to chat outside of the threads too. I have a pair of original GM spotlights from his truck that he gifted me years ago for my truck. Thank you for your service friend. RIP, I am at a loss for more to say.

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
Damnit....
i had to just go back through this thread and do my own little tribute to Mark. Unfortunately i never got to meet the man, but from what i see on here, he was a great soul, Served his country proudly, and loved this truck. My heart goes out to his wife, kids and rest of he family. I learned so much from his posts, but i will never forget "Tufting". God Speed my friend. May God Bless this family. |

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
Thanks for sharing Captainfab. Unfortunately I’m late to the news. I was randomly checking my “Junk” email when I came across a couple thread notifications that snuck in there. I wondered what Mark was up to now, as we all know that followed him that he was always changing things to his liking. I’m so sad to hear of his passing. I always enjoyed following this thread over the years. I too, like some others have mentioned, will be carrying a piece of Mark with me on my truck. He was kind enough to gift me a pair of factory-style mirrors after changing his. I also made a post asking about emblems for a wall art project we were making for my little boy’s room, and he donated a GMC emblem that we used. My prayers go out to all family and friends. He will be very much missed.

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
In tribute to Mark, I think anyone that has received anything from him as a gift or purchase or has used one of his ideas on your own truck should post pictures of the mod or item. I plan on using Mark's backup light setup on my truck in the coming months.
I didn't know Mark really, but he answered my PMs when I had questions and he always had a positive attitude and definitely loved his truck and interacting with people on the board. I also love the pic that was posted with his sidearm...looks like an old pic from the wild west. RIP Mark, I wish more people were like you! |

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
Damn, this really bums me out. I havent been on the site a lot lately, dealing with medical issues from military service lately myself.
I always felt a kinship with Mark, being a fellow Washingtonian, military guy, and of course C-10 fanatic....I've referenced his thread many, many times for ideas. Truly sad news...Godspeed friend, you will be missed. |

Re: Markeb01 Build Thread
Sorry to hear Mark passed. He was a great forum member, who shared his extensive mechanical knowledge, creativity, and love of trucks. We can see a full life enjoying many different mechanical automotive pursuits. Served his country as others noted. I feel enriched to have known Mark.
