Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Google 'painting aluminum engine block' and you'll find plenty of discussions and info on it. Bottom line is water cooled engines are cooled by the coolant circulating through them, not by ambient air.
Manufacturers don't paint aluminum because brand new aluminum engines look great in the showroom. |

Yeh, that might just have to go into the future upgrade bucket along with the bumpers. Wouldn't want to let this project snowball...

Is the grill anodized aluminum? Seen some people take the anodized aluminum headlight bezels on Corvairs and strip the anodizing off and polish them up on the buffer wheel with good results.

It's really looking very nice. There has probably very few that have had that much attention to detail on the body work before paint.
Are the grills available still. Where did you get yours from. Mine on the Cob has been made from two. Also need the panel the grill mounts to. Cheers Mal |

I picked up the NOS grille on ebay UK. Bought it over two years ago. Not sure how available they are. PM me if you are interested in my old one (sounds like it's nicer than the one you have now). |

Unwrapped the engine and removed the valve cover for blasting and paint. It will be the same red that's on the sides of the car:

heared repop versions of the grille are still available but dont fit as good
read a story quite some years ago in an english car magazine in wich the owner of a modded angela got a call back aftter asking around for parts and had to hurry and get to a angila destined to be put intoo a container and shipped to india to gas axe the whole front off it i can hardly mmagine the suprize of the new owner of that car once it arived or the telephone conversation with the shipper after that
