For sale: 1971 Chevrolet C10 Longhorn pickup truck, second owner. Originally from a Santa Maria farm.

Chevy Longhorn
402 Big Block V8, Turbo 400 transmission. 3/4 ton

This was a COVID Project truck me, my dad, and grandfather did while we were in lockdown.

Pantiná is all original, sanded down, and then re-clear coated to hold the look.

The cab has been newly painted white.

Restored to preserve its original charm, this truck underwent a comprehensive makeover. All new top and bottom trim kit. Rare exterior cab trim, original “LONGHORN” badges were recasted and polished.

The entire front end, bed, were carefully removed and cleaned up. The front cow has been meticulously reassembled using its authentic parts, re-powder coated to maintain its originality.

The bed showcases new wood bed bunks and replaced but are started to crack. New freshly painted wheel tubs to remedy dents, while the engine bay received thorough attention. The engine underwent a complete overhaul, including a carburetor upgrade, tune-up, and air filter replacement. Additionally, the original AC unit was recharged within the past two years. I also was able to source factory original stickers for the bay.

Inside, a fresh paint job adorns the truck while a new retro sound stereo system adds modern convenience. The dash has been entirely redone with new lights, gauges, and a factory tachometer. The interior trim, roof trim, and dash are all new, new door panels, and CT AMP and sub installed hidden away under the seat. Brand new fuel tank, and also comes with original dual 16gal bed tanks. YES 3 fuel tanks. Fresh tires grace the original repainted wheels fitted with beauty rings, and more modernized wheel caps.

Enhanced with four new front and rear Monroe shocks, new spider bearings in the rear differential, and new bumpers installed with updated lighting, this truck is ready to roll with both authenticity and renewed quality. Not shown are bed rails were made to give it a more farm truck style. Those are optional if you’d like em.

Underneath, the vehicle underwent a sandblasting and repaint of the chassis. New flow master exhaust install at Kenz Muffler.

I have all receipts in an organized binder

Vehicle is registered, and has insurance through Hagardy Classics Insurance. No smog check ever needed due to year cutoff.

Vehicle is at my families hot rod shop in Ventura, stored indoor on a battery tender.

Overall a great truck, ABSOLUTELY GREAT DAILY DRIVER AROUND TOWN.

Here’s some history notes.

Longhorn (8.5” frame and bed extension) model from 1970-1972, in large part to carry the longest pickup camper that was on the market at the time. Though beloved by followers, these trucks were produced in small numbers (only 3331 in 1971)

1971 C10 Custom roller (no engine or transmission). Truck is pretty straight but has typical rust and some on bedside. 5 lug front disc brakes, SPID on glovebox and comes with a clean Kansas Antique Title. No I won’t sell the title and VIN plate! Truck rolls and steers fine, but needs some column work. It has a 12 bolt rear (code shows it to be a 3:73). The majority of the floor looks to be solid. No rust through on the windshield eyebrow. I’ve got a rear quarter for bed that I’ll include. More pics available. No trades, no online payments. Wichita KS. Again, clean KS Antique title.
