Re: PO has me PO'd
Thanks guys, great of you to check in.....sorry, but yeah, could of bought lots of rusty truck parts if i didnt buy those diamonds.
Working on injection harness, the part number for the FAST male terminal is #170260. Using the delphi tool in the pic will release them from the connecter... 20140507_115616 by james_jaros, on Flickr

Re: PO has me PO'd
Worked on the injector harness, one side almost done. Much better in my opinion then the split plastic
XIM/with harness is on the way from FAST OEM CNP brackets are just not working out, have to make something better 20140514_121524 by james_jaros, on Flickr

Re: PO has me PO'd
Really looks good Jim. Big improvement over the plastic stuff. I wish I would have considered other options before I covered everything.

Did you use a special tool or just what you had?

Re: PO has me PO'd
Yeah, i used that super thin Delphi 12094429 tool, just kept pressing and pushing on the bottom of the connector. Ill try to take a pic of the tab, but its really small and i dont know if it will turn out.
If A3 is on the bottom of the connector, and you pry down, it should raise the tab on the pin, and allow you to pull the pin forward, or push on wire

Re: PO has me PO'd
Kinda hard to see, but the tang (T) is located in the dark shadowy area. I think the key is to pull on the wire, and then come in at a steep down angle with the tool to catch the (T) and pry up.....
The (T) im talking about has three horizontal white lines in it on the pic. I dont know if you have a tablet, but if blow up the pic, it becomes obvious where and what this 'T' looks like 20140609_100637 by james_jaros, on Flickr

Re: PO has me PO'd
So the wire and connector should pull out thru the wire side of the housing, correct?

Of these type of connectors, if the retension mechanism is a small wedge in the plastic part they are released from the wire side, if a tang on the pin they are released from the opposite side. These actually look like they are probably the wedge type so they would be released from the wire side. |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Ok, this is as much as i know on the subject.....
Looking at the pins, they have a release tang on the bottom and you can access it through the wire side, and push the pin forward. There is no way that i can see to take the pin back into the connector b/c there are to very little nubs at the top of the pin that keep it from going in the direction of the wire. The End This is FAST's part number, but you should be able to cross referance it to a delphi part number 20140619_135952 by james_jaros, on Flickr You can see the tang hanging down, in this pic. better, that has to be depressed to remove pin 20140619_131809 by james_jaros, on Flickr

Re: PO has me PO'd
Well, to answer your question....its slow. Im under the wifeys employ for the summer (honey do list) and she has decided the outside of my workshop was a bit ghetto. So, i had to hang siding and trowel stucco to give her the curb appeal she wanted, but it cost her a 1945 erie gas pump
But, i finally decided on the wheels and tires i wanted ( knurley, to coin a phrase i learned on the site) interco truxes m&s radials. Stock size on the front, 10 in. wide on the back with 1 1/2" wheel spacers. Corvette ralleye from wheels vintique, not sure if i will run the center caps and trim rings....might do a poll to see what you guys think 20140801_124059 by james_jaros, on Flickr 20140801_124133 by james_jaros, on Flickr

Re: PO has me PO'd
Pump is a nice touch, it's the little victories that count after all.
Tires will look great on the truck, I'm curious to see how your poll turns out. Any progress is good progress! Enjoy the rest of the summer. |

We use to have a similar pump on our Farm in Indiana... wish I would have grabbed it before everything was auctioned off.
