If you can't find the correct ones, grind the square part of the stove bolt till they fit. I drained the water out from the engine build this summer and put in antifreeze. It got down to 29 F last nite....

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Test fit the 315x75x16 BFG TA KO2 on 16x10 steelies on the front. Perfect, plenty of room. Ordered the tires and rims. Should be here Tuesday. Not soon enough. Through cracks in the tread of my current/old front tires, could see the belt core.
Took my dash apart to diagnose why my wipers stopped working. After testing everything thoroughly, reassembled and it works great now. Must have been bad/loose/dirty connections. Replaced the missing e-clip on the wiper motor arm. Vacuumed out probably 40 years of crud and pine tree needles from under the cowl.

Converted back to true dual exhaust..took out crossover. I didn't like the motor boat sound at idle.

Yesterday and today. Removed 3OTT transmission, factory rivets on crossmember were a lot of fun. Getting ready to install TH350 and tilt column.

Drove an hour each way to pick these up. Out of a '68 dodge pick up. Hard to come by parts for these trucks in Florida

Ran out of truck money. So, I'm just doing little, tiny stuff these days. I figured RAT will always be RAT. But, since there's paint on her now, I decided to go for a different tag. Couldn't get "C10". So, I had to go with "CI0". Close. Here it is "P-Shopped" on there.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Today my friends helped me begin the process of replacing my wood bed in the '68 from the old, poorly finished oak to new quarter-sawn red oak that will be milled and finished over the winter. We elected to pull the box completely, so here are a few pictures from today. While off I will clean and paint the frame as well as a few other tasks - new real wiring harness, diff cover, etc. The old boards are being reclaimed to use elsewhere by my wood worker father in law.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I took the drive-shaft off, but my buddies Sal and Mario did the entire new Ring & Pinion and True-trac install. I was happy with my old 3:42 gears but unfortunately they don't make a True-trac LSD that fits my 1977 12 bolt with that ratio, so we went 3:73. It's great, different feel with both wheels driving the truck. Yes its a GMC with leaf spring rear.

Today I am spray painting my inner grill. I glued up a crack (didn't notice the other cracks in time!) and figured I could at least primer paint it.
