Re: GM Semis

The D860 was actually built up until 1962. The new-for-1960 DB-7000 came only with the 6V-71 so customers wanting the in-line 6-71 in a short conventional had to buy the older D860. In 1963 the DBI-7000 finally replaced the D860.

Cool Re: GM Semis

Found this one on Facebook. She's one of the last GMC Astros built with a date of August 17th, 1987 they stopped production in September of 87. This one is equipped with an 8V92TA and a 13 speed with just under 600,000 miles on it.

Wouldn't mind owning it

These are my favorite five I have saved. The last picture I know nothing about that extra grille work. Prototype?

Re: GM Semis

Great pictures. Especially like the last one. Chevy 80 or 90's. Wish they had Cab Lights, can't tell what year they are, but 1970 or newer anyway.

Looks like at least 3 identical trucks, probably a fleet order for P.I.E. or McLean if they were red. Budd wheels too. Is that a girl driving the first one? Cool if it was!

I think oil companies were the only buyers of GMC's with the 702 V-12!

I bet you're right! That first picture shows almost all GMs. I think that truck found its way into the Chinese underground
