Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I might be technically cheating here. But I found this when I was cleaning the crap out of the back of the "Love Shack' 20 years worth of junk in the camper.

What is this? It looks cool. I might make a bathroom light out of it.

Did some paint correction on the Chevelle . It gets micro scratches in the clear because it was painted with the old technology urethane bc/cc . But it makes it easy to polish up .

That's what it is, a bathroom light. Or it sure would be a cool one. Not sure, but maybe it was lighting for making movies back when that was a big deal, 16mm, 8mm, and Super8. All I know is I love all that stuff painted with metallic paint and hammerite back then, copper, green, blue, whatever. It was the NEW thing back then

The crowd is growing. That's cool. I see some 67-72s in there. That squashed out coupe is cool to look at I guess. I'm not even sure about that for me. All I know is you can look at it all you want, but drive it? Sorry for blurting, but I just don't care for that trend. Just silly.

That wooden panel is something I might do. All you need is a cowl and build the rest.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I need that! A friend has offered me a Model A frame and another offered to give me the drivetrain and running gear. I could have a rolling chassis fairly easily and certainly cheaply. I don't expect to ever build a full bodied car or pickup but I'd like to come up with something fun. I was thinking a doodlebug but building a wood body huckster or truck would be neat.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Had to swap the pump out on my air compressor system. My Harbor Freight pump died (reed valve assembly) after 14 years. They don't make parts to repair the old one (I replace the valve assemblies 6 years ago), so got another one, on sale at HF so for $90, and couple $ for some 3/4" pipe I am back running again. Had to route the air pipe as it was different between the 2 and the hydraulic line guy didn't have the fittings I needed to match up, so 3/4" pipe to the rescue to meet up with the old line. Maybe not stylish, but it works and should be strong enough. I also will need a slightly smaller pulley for the motor, which is on the way, but looks like I'm back in business for about $120 total. I don't seem to use is as hard as when I first got the thing and set up the old HF pump in early 2009. If I get 15years out of this one, I will feel good.

The original setup was a 1991 Excel system. It served EdB for 15 years and been with me since 2006.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

My neighbor has a little terrier dog. It's an obnoxious little guy and my dogs hate him. He strolls by the fence and pee's and kick his rear legs and antagonizes my dogs.

So..Today. My wife let's the dogs out to run in the yard. And who is out there? Yup. The little Scotty dog is in my yard. Now there is no fence between them.

I panic. I figured that my German Shepherd was going to kill this dog. They surrounded the dog and I thought it was over.

But no. Duke didn't do anything but just stand there. It was my little Havanese Bear Bear that jumped in like a land shark. Which is so unusual. Bear usually wouldn't get up if the house was on fire. But I guess he had a beef with the Scotty dog. So he went after him. Totally out of character. I can't believe that he even got up. He's a Sloth.

The Scotty took off running with my little Corgi hot on his tail. She chased him all the way home. I don't think that Scotty will be coming around soon.

My little tough guy.

And don't mess with a Corgi. They might have short legs but they have a LOT of attitude.

Move equipment around. I have a SawStop jobsite (portable) saw for sale and I got it up to the front door of my "shop" for easy access when (if) the buyer shows tomorrow. Craig's List shoppers.

I've never heard of Morell mushrooms. Do they get you stoned?

This is what I didn't do on my truck today. It's still in the box with the rest of the stuff that the UPS guy dropped off. He hates me. I buy heavy stuff.

Be ready for the Rose a sharon to invade the whole yard . I had it at my rental property and I got it out of my yard but the neighbor has them and they pop up everywhere in my yard every spring . Very invasive plant

Nice looking green house ,,any wife would love that ,..You did good..............This reminded me of one time I was thinking of building a green house ,, I had a job changing out #8- 8 feet sliding doors in this one house ,I got all them doors that came to #16 separate aluminum framed windows ...
Took them home and then later about 6 months someone told me that they were no good for a green house as they were tinted and would not let the solor rays through for growing plants ..
I sold them for $75 dollar to a guy from the beach that he wanted to surround his ocean front patio for a wind brake ...

Got it done! That's a tidy greenhouse you built her. You should get a few points from that!

That turned out really nice. Even though it's a relatively simple structure, you built it to fit with the style of your shop and house it looks like. Hopefully she's happy with it, it looks great from here.

Great added purpose. So, did you actually build it for her plantings or...?

I have a spot in the high corner of my lot that gets the late afternoon sun. That's where I'll set freshly painted parts to cook the paint on parts. Hmmm... a greenhouse, ey?

We have an ag supply store in town with a greenhouse. Just as I was walking up to it an employee came out dragging a hose. I walked in there and my glasses steamed up immediately. Such humidity!
