Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Today I did a job that I've been putting off for a while but it needed to be done today. I swapped out the heater hoses that were leaking. The ones I got from Auto Zone had small holes every like two to three inches. Well they leaked at those holes so I got a Gates hose from Napa. All together and no leaks. The in-laws came up so I didn't get much further.

No leaks is a great thing... Sounds like you're making great progress.

Chuck,
There you go, being my hero! Touch it every day.
You still made progress today. Closer than it was yesterday.
Keep up the good work. I check every day for the updates.

Thanks Mike, I was going to ask you if you had a good charcoal canister. I put some fuel in my tank but the fuel wanted to build up in the neck. I didn't have an open line for a vent. I thought I would mount a canister near the rear for something for it to vent into. I put a line on and its just there. Lmk if you have one.. I just threw one out a couple weeks ago.

I have a list for sure. Off the top of my head..

finish the carpet
install the seats
install the vent hoses for the Ac and heat
shim up the hood a little on both sides
charge the A/C
install the posi/bearings in the rear
front end alignment/ may have to reposition the steering wheel
put on the door to cab seals and sill plates
paint the rotors
install charcoal canister for tank vent

A heavy box came today. I have to get somebody that knows what they're doing to set it up for me. I want it right the first time. I'm clueless.

I'm right there with you. Wish I knew how to build a posi... Need it for both my vehicles. Parts look nice though. What did you get? Looks like ring and pinion, new bearings, and a posi unit. Is that it?

I don't feel comfortable with my lack of tools and skills to set it up right. I'll leave it to the professionals.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got the last wire ran and the carpet in. I also put the bottom portion of the console in and the wires ran through. I put the pigtail for the stereo on to. I don't know if I said this or not but I got another head unit. A pioneer with bluetooth and iPad/iphone compatible. A bunch of other features that I'm clueless about lol. I mounted the mic for the bluetooth on the A pillar.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Well after trading the stereo out at Best Buy I took the wife out for dinner. When we got home I did manage to put the new one in and get it going. Then I finished putting the console together. I need to touch up a spot and it'll be done.

The stereo does sound good too.
