Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Update! Finally finished the ridiculously detailed sound deadener install... Way overboard ..even for me. I have some thermal liner to add as well... Had some help: aaaaaand started the wiring install: Had to chop these five wires in order to remove them when I had the car media blasted. They are the only factory wires remaining. Here they are reunited and it feels so good... Zip-tie/tie-wrap anchors ready to secure them in place for good: Along with the wiring install I started the heater hose install since they run under the dash and need to be installed sooner than later. In order to land them I needed to complete the heater core mods by soldering these 90* fittings. Lets hope they're solid! |

OMG you're working on it again - YAY!!!
$.02 - MAPP gas torch more better for everything - especially copper pipe soldering, BBQ burner lighting, cigar lighting... and on. The flame is a little hotter and it makes all the difference in sweating pipe. And since you're a tool guy - get the self igniter you will never look back. |

Thanks Rob. I picked up some of this to use over the fatmat on the interior. Still trying to determine what to use under the trans tunnel and under side near exhaust. Any suggestions? |

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
A little more progress.
I discovered Gaffer Tape for securing interior wiring. Stuff seems really solid. The ex-avionics tech in me wanted to use clamps everywhere but I had to resist the urge. Engine compartment / Front lights wiring started and Heater Blower Motor in place: aaaaaaaand removed the suspension once again. Control arms and rear links will be off to powdercoating soon. Clean/bare underside = good access for fuel/brake lines install. |

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
the gleu in gaffertape will turn to powder after a few years in the heat and sun but to mount it temporary untill the panels are in place or protect the wiring it should be good

Thanks for keepin it real OEMs are using this type of tape for the same purpose. I'll be applying the nioco liner over it as well. |

So how does that make you feel? That's a lot of progress between those two pictures!

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Car look great and it is good to see more progress.
When I followed the link to the nioco liner there were some comments in the reviews about the adhesives melting and dripping later. Is there any concern on their comments or has the product been improved to keep that from happening? I would hate to see that with all the work that you have done. Dwight |

I haven't installed the Noico. Still researching the appropriate application for it. I'm a little concerned about some of the reviews to it may be shelved for now. 2" gaffer tape is in play, yes. Seems really high quality. |
