California just came out with them. $40 environmental plates.
They call the "Retro Plates", or something like that.
So, they are not as cool as original black plates.

Same colors. But they have seven letters/numbers plus a 1/2 space
anywhere you want to place it.

Already, I couldn't get C10. But CI0 was available.
So, I snagged them.

Thumbs up Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Some really great photos here ! .

I especially liked the driving shots .

Lots of hard work being done before the Winter really sets in .

That's the advantage of electronic gauges...

seriously though, I've got a full compliment of data on the "gauges" screen on the Atomic hand held controller so I can keep an eye on things.

I tried the Nu Vintage V.1 perimeter lighting gauge cluster and it was horrible. VERY poor lighting ( bulbs) and the curved lens covers had a glare 365/24/7...so I sent it back to Summit.

Called Ben @ Nu Vintage and had him make me a custom set-up with V.2 LED backlit gauges & flat lens covers, didn't even charge me for the upgrades. I'll post pics once its in.

Installed the rebuilt 700R4 two weeks ago. Shifts like new, but the mileage on the truck is horrible. I'm blaming the old engine. lol

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Couldn't really get motivated enough to get under the truck and in the mud to pull the bad starter, and drop the oil pan (again). Damn intermediate shaft won't seat the distributor all the way, so I got another one to try.

Anyway, I decided to take the plunge and cut the dash for a stereo. 😱

I'm pretty happy.

Well it wasn't today but I swapped a tremec t56 magnum into my 72 chevy c10 swb fleetside. Much better performance response. Not cheap though

Finally fixed my gas sending unit. Float was missing. 5 dollar part and 10 in shipping but at least now I know how much is in the tank.

Ned, Nice look, I did the same thing after trying to polish the original emblems just don't look good with fresh paint. I did the same with the hood emblems after spending many hours trying to polish the originals, I guess the 49 years of exposure to the elements did a number on them.

Top coating my hood hinge springs. Those are very nearly done. Using a set of come-alongs to spread the springs out a bit.
