Don't forget your seals around the top front and the sides of the radiator and the support. Unless if there are any gaps it will let the air bypass the radiator and not cool as efficently.

I made my side seals and front top seal, but you can see about what the 3rd pciture has for a factory (if all the pieces were still on it) looks like. It makes a tremdous difference on cooling ability, especially on the highway or if you have AC.

Thanks for the information. There were no seals on the old radiator and I did not know any better. I will get that fixed.

Not all today,just catching up.lol. Inner fenders and core support bolted on. Windshield and back glass installed and grill support blasted and epoxied this evening.

Changed the transmission out due to lack of reverse

had a drive shaft made and installed it.

Replaced the headlight switch and some bulbs and sockets

Changed the Proportioning Valve down on the frame.

Well I got a little more done today on the cab . With if going to the blasters next weekend , I decided it would make more sense , to weld up the hole in the transmission tunnel .

I think the previous owner should have purchased a grinder with a cutting wheel . If you think the dash was bad take a look at the hole he cut in the tunnel . I think they used a coal chisel and the a pair of grips to bend the cut metal over .

So first I cleaned up the part I cut from my old cab floor



I then welded in the new part



After welding it in I cleaned it up



Then I welded up the hole that was for the second tank







I also welded up the holes left after I removed the jack brackets on the floor .



So with the floor all cleaned up it's ready for blasting next week .

Had a bit of a busy few days with Loretta, installed a new passenger side fender, new hood, and new bed-wood i sanded stained and sealed. now to dive into the engine a bit more

Nice job fixing all that! Might of been a good time to change to a high hump ..

After letting the painted engine sit for two weeks, let's say it was to "let the paint cure" and not cause i'm lazy... I finally got around to moving along with the spruce up. Headers were sanded down and repainted, valve covers painted (thinking of adding red to the top of the fins or maybe in between?) painted and installed the Edlebrock Performer intake and the distributor got new cap, rotor, points and condenser. A step closer to the first test fit in the truck.
Also found that my new brakes leak when I bled them, yay. I've contacted McGaughy's warranty department and they should be sending new parts this week.

I was attempting to remove my rear coil springs to install lowering springs, but I broke both bolts going through the trailing arms. I was able to use an air chisel to push the driver's side bolt through but cannot budge the right side bolt. I drenched it with penetrating oil and will let it sit overnight.

The upper bolts are soaking, too.

Picked it up at Dwayne's House of Hot~rods and DROVE it home...

took my wife and son on their first run in it... # honey take me for a spin

made some adjustments and DROVE it to N@P@, where the fellows have been waiting for several years to see all their parts back in one place.

Then DROVE to the Sonic Car Cruise...

visited with some Road Mutt CC alumni and DROVE it to my buddy Keith's (he's building a 63 GMC shortwide)...

then you guessed it, DROVE it to my buddy's down on Mopar Alley and visited some more...

Then just for fun, DROVE it home...

four years since it all began and other than dragging two or three times (PA) it was a great evening of DRIVING.

I think everyone of mine that I did (the first time) snapped off too. I had one that took a soaking or too before it would punch thru.

Installed a Precision windshield gasket, bled the brakes after installing the new dual master cylinder, and... drove it! Good to be back in the saddle again. It's running great.

I know, but I am going to say it any ways, you guys have it easy, finding the repair parts, for your trucks, but us guys who have panels, it is a different story, sure from the back of the front doors, it all looks the same, but from the back of the doors, it is a whole different story, I have looked for repair parts, and it seems like no one makes them, so what is a guy going to do to fix rusted panels, I need a repair panel for the passenger side rear, just above the light housing, to the lower end, and does any one know if a long wheel base side, will work to replace the one above the wheel, if any one knows, please let me know http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...817=1465945817

Had to cut the spring then the bolt sticking up but I was finally able to air chisel that darn thing out. The bolt was bone dry even filling the spring retainer with PB Blaster. Not a drop found its way in.

Soooo... an update on the wretched electrical gremlins (etc.) in my 62 C10.

I had a constant generator light on the dash with the key off.

Called my buddy Sam (street rod builder extraordinaire) in Mt. Pleasant, who said "Can you get it out to me this afternoon?" Soooo I did.

On the way the hardware holding the down pipes to the ram-horns rattled loose and I nearly dropped my exhaust on 119 South.... and it certainly got LOUDER than it normally is, but do you think yours truly caught the change in tonal... you guessed it. Nope mesmerized by the sheer fact I'm driving.

To add insult to injury, my D.S. peep vibrated loose and now resides somewhere between here and there.

Discovered the 1/4" line coming off the master was dripping DOT 3 pretty good on my freshly painted inner fender so we tightened it up... and went on with our electrical work.

With some patience, superior intellect, and a single 12V test light he worked every pending electrical issue out of the truck.

During the alternator conversion to the generator/forward lamp harness, we mis-wired one small red lead to the junction block that apparently is not used after you abandon the external voltage regulator. So we pulled it off the junction block, taped it up, and abandoned it in the bundle.

No light and system is charging!!!

Sam sees things we mere mortals (I) can't. He even threw in a pair of peeps to replace the one that went AWOL. Before I rolled out he tightened and replaced the missing hardware on both manifolds too. Sam's a ruler.

SO the drive home was so much quieter and even had the option of using turn signals, which really is not commonly done around here anyway, but never hurts.

Happy, happy... everybody happy - right?

Well almost.

Seems the 1/4" brake line that was leaking at Sam's, popped through the flare nut and re-baptized my truck in DOT 3 (paint remover).

The hidden blessing is no one was hurt and the truck can be fixed.

I will have to shoot the D.S. front fender again, but that's life when you can't properly hand flare mild steel tubing... which obviously I cannot.

Peeps are on. Tubing is up at Dwayne's House of Hot Rods for a hydraulic double flare job and tonight we BLEED again!

Or in this case an aftermarket side view mirror commonly employed on hot rods, street rods, and all manner of specially constructed vehicles.

Similar to the one pictured here on my 62 where it was formally mounted.
