Pretty crafty. I did the same exact thing in a friends shop then ended up selling my project. Gotta be getting excited. My truck is just sitting, havent touched it in months

Coming along great. Firewall looks so smooth and clean... Really makes me think twice about doing mind or not haha. The white grille would be killer, I don't care how many 68's I see with the white grille and red body or blue or any other stock color combination, I'll always be a fan as it's just so classy.

Thanks Scott, I had to do something, it's too cold out to spray in the tent and my washer and dryer are in the garage so I had to build the walls to keep the overspray and dust off of them and my toolbox. I also built a box that fits in the garage door for my exhaust fans. You can see part of it in the pic. I would be excited but the cab needs a lot more work, I'm not happy about that. What's going on with yours, are you getting it painted soon?

Thanks, I'm still undecided about the white grill. I don't know which one I would be more happy with.

Thanks guys, I hope it works out the way I expect it too. It was either this or take the next 5-6 months off while i wait for the weather to warm back up which wasn't an option. I still have a few things I need to do to the garage to make it ready to spray in but the majority is done.

That's awesome news buddy, really wish I could have done the same with mine. It would have saved me a lot of aggravation and time.

I also finished my fan box this week. Now I'm ready to paint if I ever finish blocking.

Nice progress on the cab Keith, I'm digging the exhaust system too. You'll be surprised how little of the rear of your cab actually shows up when you assemble your truck. Ask me how I know. I spent a ton of time on mine only to find it's almost all hidden by the bed...

That exhaust fan idea is great! I think I am going to copy that. Block work looks good. Just take your time, it is going to all be worth it when the paint is on. Nice truck.

Thanks Mike, initially I was thinking that it didn't matter because you'll never see the back wall with the bed on but then because I'm so anal I find myself trying to make it as perfect as I can. I have another couple of coats of slick sand and blocking to do before I call it good enough for paint.

Thanks, it should work out pretty good. We designed it to fit in the garage door opening so I can shut the door down on top of it.

Thanks, I'm definitely taking my time with the blocking I still have another couple of coats of slicksand to spray and reblock it again. I want it to be as nice as possible.

Thanks Scott, I procrastinated for a while cause I didn't feel like sanding. I would basically sand for a little bit and then walk away for a week. I've got it going now, besides if I don't do it then it will never get done right

Looking good man, keep at it!

I may have missed it but have you done seam sealer in the drip rail yet?

Make sure you don't park that nice new Sierra anywhere near the other side of the door

I'm going to do it before my final coats of slicksand. I read that you don't want to build the primer to thick over the seam sealer.

Yeah the truck will be nowhere near the door. The exhaust port on the box is actually not the big, just a slim window at the bottom to vent. Most of it will be caught inside the box.

Sounds like solid advise. I did mine before the high build, the sealer shrunk a bit and the primer cracked. I get to revisit that now

Sorry to hear that man, hopefully it isn't to much work for you. Any help on what I should use for seam sealer. I need to start figuring it out, I'm going to need it soon.
