As for those "extensions" on the battery Russ? I just cut them off and used the stock hold down frame. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Got the fuel system finished, the cooling system is done, just need to run the tranny cooler lines, new window felts and vent window seals are in. All that's left to do before we fire the engine is to install the plugs, plug wires, exhaust manifolds and hook up the tach so we can break in the cam. But it's fathers day and we are heading to a car show, a well deserved break.

dan
i think for some of us older folks (not all of us mind you ) its just a little bit easier to sevice the battery for (watever reason )from the engine bay and not have to clammer around slidin under the truck to get it out . although i do agree it cleans up the looks of the engine bay . its just a bit more convienent to get to ..........as usuall just my 02 centavos worth |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
I joined up with several local rods and I drove mine about 55 miles to an annual Father's Day show. Hadn't intended to enter, so I parked several blocks away, when the others called me and said drive around and get checked in.
Left the hood down, but windows and back doors were open for a surprising number of lookers. On the way down there I noticed the original temp gauge started working, as well as the 2" SW gauge. Also calculated the run at 9-mpg. Oh, well. This was my first high speed, "distance" run. Had a relaxing, fun day. |

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Armadillos rock. We lived on a farm when we were in Texas and at night they would come around and knock over the trash cans. Not afraid of anything. There was one that was road kill and after 6 months by the side of the road it the shell was still intact. Wife wouldn't let me keep it...

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Busy past weekend, but it was good. Exhaust, finished the wiring and odds and ends. Trying to get plates for it this week to take it for a spin (took it for a spin around though).
It has been raining a ton in upstate NY so I actually don't feel bad that it wasn't on the road yet.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?
Thanks Ray, I had to do the left one{the part that bolts to the block} a couple times to get it to where It looked OK. the problem is there is a step where it mounts to the block. There had to be three angles cut into the square tube at odd ball angles. But It was fun and looks a lot better than the stock clam shells I started with. And was cheaper

(took it for a spin around though). Isn't that such a good feeling
It has been raining a ton in upstate NY so I actually don't feel bad that it wasn't on the road yet. I know that feeling. It seems like every time I bought a motorcycle the rainfall was above average |
