Simply a FANTASTIC job!

Hey, somewhere you mentioned you plan to redo your Belair. When you do that, can you periodically post update on it here? I know this site isn't for the cars but I'd still like to know the plan for it and the progress.

See 'ya somewhere when the world opens up again, Bam. Best ,Dan

Dan,

First of all thanks for the compliments. As far as the 55 210, yes I will be redoing it with a new suspension, drivetrain, and paint scheme. But I'm going to take about a year break, I'm tired.lol I will start a build thread in the Alternate Tinkerings section of this site. I will be sure to let you know.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Thanks Bam, really looking forward to it.

I think I've mentioned it before but my dad bought a brand new black Belair two door hardtop to bring his baby son home from the hospital (me) and he gave it to me when I turned 17. I did a lot of work on it as a young kid in auto shop. But I wanted a van - all the rage when I was that age.

It KILLS me I was so stupid and didn't keep it the rest of my life. I actually tried to find it via the DMV in my 40's but couldn't track it down even though I knew the old license number. Again, looking forward to watching your progress!

Yeah if we could only get back the cars that got away. I had a 66 GTO in high school I wish I had it now.

Thanks man. I feel like all the people that commented and encourage me were with me on this journey to finish the truck. Thanks to all for all the words of encouragement along the way. Not finished yet but really close.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

Hey Bam, I wanted to pop on here and thank you for all the time you put into posting pictures, writing updates, answering questions, and putting up with the general truck guy ridiculousness, haha. I'm mostly a SquareBody guy, but I like all of them. I'm also a modified-stock guy, or stock+ guy, but I enjoy the customs and can appreciate what it takes to them put together. Love seeing your metal artistry. I know your humility doesn't allow you to accept a compliment like that, but it's really true. We also share an appreciation for simplicity and integration that leads to its own kind of elegance and presence. Your truck has that, enough to share. In fact, sharing has been the real theme that I've seen as I have read page after page on here the last few days. Your time, your knowledge, your patience, your experience with the tragedy at Santa Monica College. I've appreciated your sharing it and your perspective. The video with your wife caps it all off. Loved her enthusiasm. Cracked me up because I couldn't hear you on my phone with the first couple of videos you did, but I had no problem hearing her, haha. WHO LIKE OLD CARS? i do. WE DO, HE DO.

Please keep posting so we can see where you take it and how you enjoy it. Thanks again man.

Thank you so much for all the kind words. Yeah the wife loves to cruise with me and is my biggest supporter. She just hates the building process but once we can ride we ride.lol She's all grins and waves and just fun to hang with.

Re: Kabwe's aka Bam's build

I had the truck dynoed tuned. It made 325 hp and 327 lbs of torque at the wheels.

I also been hitting a couple of meet and greets and having a ball.
