I've been following your build from the day it was on the trailer. I must say I'm impressed with your build skills, your dedication to seeing the task to its end, and the fantastic final results. Thank you for sharing the ride with us!!

Thanks Palf! The Tahoe is definitely getting some love in order to make it more marketable. But between us, knowing myself I will probably get hooked on it again and take it further into uncharted territory. I need a new creative outlet after "finishing" the Funbeam

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Quick question regarding post 32 (waaaay back there): "I had the axles reworked at Dutchman's to fit the S2000 rotors. They are 5x4.5" and just happen to be the same pattern as the wheels you may have noticed in some of the previous pics. While at Dutchman's I had new bearings and retainers pressed on."

Did that mean to say, "...had the S2000 rotors reworked to fit the axles"? I'm looking at doing a similar retrofit, and it looks like the rotors were re-drilled to the existing pattern of the DJ-5. And are DJ's 5x4.5 stock (smaller than CJ's 5x5), or is that what was reworked?

Axles were reworked to fit the s2000 rotors as written. The reason for this was to allow me to use factory or aftermarket S2000 parts for most of the mechanical gear.

I took it out for a spin with my copilot today.

I haven't checked back here in awhile. One word: WOW!
I think your Funbeam is WAY cooler than the Porsche, and I am a Porsche fan. (There really isn't a car better than the one you built for yourself following your own inspiration as a guide.) I've read more than a few vehicle build threads, and this one is right near the top. Your skills are AMAZING!

Like all the other users in this thread, I have commented with words of amazement regarding your Minx project and always look forward to any updates as they become available. I hope you don't mind continuing to post updates, videos, pics etc., this little car and it's journey are beloved by us all. Congrats on now being able to enjoy it with your family!

Hi Frizzel,

Firstly congratulations on finishing your build, a work of art and looks really cool. They are a great little body style that really look great with a nice set of wheels let alone the engineering mods you have performed.
Love it.

I have only just re-discovered your build. For some reason I stopped getting emails when posts were made. I used to own one of these cars back in the 1970's and posted up a bad pic back on page 47 I think. Always wanted another and have just bought one. Don't have it yet as only just made the deal.

Cheers Mal

That's not a car that I would have ever thought of as being "cool" until I followed along on your build. Now I love it. You have done some beautiful work on that car.

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...

Hey Guys!

Thanks for the continued support and positive feedback everyone. And please accept my apologies for essentially bowing out of the community here for the past few years.

Many big changes are underway within the Frizzle Fry circles. In fact, (you heard it here first) we are moving out of the country!

And so I have, as you may have seen, began the difficult process of releasing the coveted collection into the wild. This car is targeted for Barrett Jackson Scottsdale March 2021.

I wish I could take them all with me, but alas, on to new adventures...

I've subscribed so I can post on the classifieds here. Here's the status of the fleet thus far:

I haven't been active here for a while so please let me know if anything in this post is misaligned with forum guidelines.

I'll be posting a proper ad in the classifieds shortly.

Once we are settled in our new home I look forward to building more absurd creations that no one in their right mind would consider investing in and only a mother could love (until I get ahold of it )

All the best to you and your family Mike, for your upcoming shift and new life settling into another country wherever that may be.
Thanks so much for the thread you created here, so many have enjoyed the Sunbeam build. I for one appreciate the time you spent tabulating every step and the enjoyment in following the process. I have learned so much just watching and reading what you do. You have such a talent with metal.
If you do happen to start another project can you call back and post a link here to whatever site you publish on.
All the best

Must not have made it, the only thing that comes up for that auction is a 66 Convertible.
