I got my wide white walls put on my new wheels, and replaced the fuel tank sender since it broke off and fell into the tank!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Check their prices and what they offer as to plugs and ends vs EZ wire.

Man...that sux. I picked up a complete harness from front to back for 150.00 at the Pomona Swap Meet. Never bought one before but I was told that was a good deal.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

just picked up a 66 Shlong bed, found out it has a 1968 327, new edelbrock 750, 3 on the floor, and a few extra parts to boot. Soooo, what I got done was: New HEI ignition, new 180 thermostat, and had the carb rebuilt(it had been sitting for awhile). I also replaced the master cylinder (still manual brakes) but plan on upgrading the brakes to power and the steering to power....

Get yourself a tempory piece of wire long enough to ground the tailight housing to the cab and retest, these trucks were notorious for bad grounds, I have a permanent ground wire to the housings.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

It is hard to imagine WHY the PO decided to cut through the glove box door to put the radio in. It takes all types I suppose.

At least the PO didn't cut up the dash..... count your blessings. Much easier to replace the glove box door than weld in patch panels and do the metal finish and body work to the dash.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

This evening, I adjusted my new Hella headlamps. These are H4 upgrades from rallylights.com and wow! I love being able to see at night.
I did the relay upgrade a couple years ago for the H6014 sealed beams. Since one burned out, I opted for the Hella lenses. Dave at rallylights has assisted me with all sorts of wiring solutions, for my BMW & Honda motorcycles and my previous truck, 1988 Dodge Dakota. I had the Hella headlamps in that, too, as the H4666 bulbs were probably the worst lamps from any factory.
Last week, I replaced the window weatherstripping and door channel. What a learning experience. The factory manuals say to 'lube' the felt channel with gasoline. Not!! Silicone spray works just fine.
I also installed a universal wiper washer pump, and placed it outside the cab, next to the master cylinder.
I like working on my truck. It is therapy for me, and the electrics are more important to me than horsepower.

Sanded and sealed the roof on the '66 and now it's too windy to paint; guess I'll do some more service/mechanical stuff.
