Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
look at the 3rd pic in post 2433. you can see where i welded up that seam on the bed wall against the cab... and i also welded underneath the bed rail. the factory spot welds just aren't strong enough in those spots once the box is gone. its REALLY strong now... the truck moves before the bed rail does and it looks cleaner without the seam

Hate to admit it but that's way sexier than a TBSS. Sorry guys. I will now go outside and wait to be tarred and feathered.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
the infamous Rich 'the painter' made it by the house last night to check things out and get a game plan going. He's going to pick up the doors, hinges, and A/C box monday after work and get them knocked out He's going to take the bed next to undercoat and paint and while he's got the bed i'm going to get the exhaust done i need to get into DMV and get everything all in order so i can drive her somewhat legal to the exhaust shop also

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Glad I stopped to check it out. I miss watching this build. I gotta remember to drop in more often. The exhaust shop going to run pipe without the bed on it? I would wait till it is on there and the truck is sitting at ride height to run exhaust. Then you are sure about clearances.
