Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
grousehunter 61, I love those old pics. I especially like the "cook box" that appears to slide out of the bed, with the stove on top. Great idea and I may copy that idea for my truck. Thanks!!!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
My New (old) C30......pulled her out of a garage for the first time in probably 10 years. Put some fresh gas in and she started right up. 70,000 original miles.
I'll be needing the forums help in getting it back in to shape. |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
Dads Longhorn, here are a couple more photos of the camper.
I made the camper my self, its a little higher then the truck cab and tall enough that I can sit up in it. It also has 2 inches of insulation so its warm in winter and cool in summer. As my name states I am a bird hunter and travel all over in the truck, If I spend more then one day I just crawl in back with the dogs and we are home. Here is a photo of old yella on a sage grouse hunt. |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
That pine won't hold up to any kind of load. Poplar would be a much better cheap choice for a truck bed.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
I have to disagree. If you put a polyurethane coating on there, it will be very hard and dent resistant. If he had wanted a really strong material that would stand up to "a load" he could have just put dimond plate or a plain sheet of steel. The fact that he spent time to make it shiny and pretty tells me that he's prolly not gonna drop an engine block on it or a tree trunk... In short, it's his truck and it's his choice. Who has the right to tell him he made a poor choice?

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Part II
I'm in Jennings. Just down the road. I should have my truck at last resort show in October at the park in Jennings, if you ever go to truck shows.
