i'll get it started, mines a 71 lwb fleetside 1/2 ton. little over stock 402, turbo 350 tranny and 205 tcase. 12 bolt rear and 10 bolt front with acccccckkkkk 307's. 31x10.5 on 15x10 wheels. '72 GMC 6 inch lift, '71 350 LT-1 and a sm420/205 combo. Dana 60 rear/44 front. Still is down to the frame waiting for assembly.

'72 Chevy k/5 Blazer rebuilt 350/350/205 12bolt rear/44 front. 35" mud tires. needs a paint job and rear end gears. daily driver to school and work.

'74 Chevy k/20 6 inch lift, mild 350 sm465/203 combo. 14 bolt rear/44 front. getting new body since I rolled it. Going to be close to a show truck, but not quite.

What I have now: 70 3/4 ton GMC, 350, SM465, NP205, Dana 60 w/ powr-loc rear, Dana 44 front. Replaced spring bushings w/ poly, replaced body mounts w/ poly, running 325/60R15 BFG All terrains on 15"x10" wagon wheels, 4.09/4.10 gearing, factory gauges.

What I'd like to do with it: Add a locker to the front and up grade axles/axle u-joints from the 260x to 297x. Flip the rear u-bolts with a kit from ORD. Install 2.5" lift to clear 33" tires. One day replace the front sheet metal w/ a one piece fiberglass front clip. Install an underdash AC unit.

I think that's enough for a vehicle that travels 15,000 miles a year.

Cool

I am trying to get started on the 72 3/4 4x4 burb. I will have 4" lift 33 or 35 inch tires on 18" wheels. 4.10 gears in the eaton rear and dana 44 front. I might put crossover steering on it. It will have a 396 or ram jet 502. Tranny will be a 4l80e. when the body is done it will appear mostly stock and be painted Bright Metallic blue.

LOL@Shaggy, yep much stronger axles.
Thanks Mudder, I think many of us aspire to have a rig as nice as yours. Your truck has been a huge motivator for me.

67 K10 shortbed fleetside. 396 / SM420 4spd / Rockwell T220 transfer case. 12 bolt rear, Dana 44 disc front. 8" Skyjacker softride front springs, custom built rear springs. Crossover steering with 2wd P/S box. Rancho RS9000'S and ProComp dual steering stabilzer. Weld Typhoon 15x14 wheels with 35x14.5x15 Super Swamper SSR radials. (Love these tires so far). Hooker Competition headers (custom made to fit) with 2 1/2" pipe into Flowmaster Delta 50 series. This week it's getting a roll pan and hidden hitch. Who knows what next week, I imagine I won't stop for a couple years, maybe longer.

I've been around here for a long time but always like the opportunity to show my baby around. I had always wanted a 4x4 and when we moved into the country I had a great excuse to buy one. My buddy has the below pictured white 70 1 ton that he converted to four wheel drive. It was all the inspiration I needed to know what kind of 4x4 I wanted.

I scoured the newspaper for about two months and then got in the habit of checking the newspaper's online site daily. A 69 3/4 ton 4x4 came up one Wednesday morning. I was his first call, first person to view it and he and I went to the bank as soon as I drove it to get him $$.

My modifications started with 4" Tuff Country lift front springs and a shackle flip from www.offroaddsign.com that also gains 4" of lift. Being a closed knuckle Dana 44 front axle, I had to use a Superlift adjustable drag link to correct the steering. I also purchased heavy duty front shacles and greaseable bushings for all spring bushings. Finally, I bought Tuff Country SX8000 shocks and a Rancho steering stablizer to replace the way dead factory stabilizer.

About a year later I installed power steering - what a great upgrade!

Next I had a flatbed custom built. I wanted a flatbed from day one. It is very handy and when it comes time for body work and paint - I won't have to worry about the bed.

My next upgrade is an SM465 that should go one of these weekends this month. I'm replacing the gaskets and seals and when the transfer case comes out I've got new seals and amd going to make new gaskets for it. Can't wait to get rid of that worthless 3 speed!

The truck has a Dana 44 up front, Corporate Eaton with a factory Detroit Locker, 4:56 gears and a whimpy 307. A manual throttle is handy in the winter as the choke doesn't work.

mines a 72 shortbox stepside K-10. as of right now, it's all basically stock, and rusty. 350 th350, i have no idea what gear ratio it has because it hasn't given me a reason to pull the covers, but i need to put lockers in it. It's running around on 31x10.50s and 8x15 ralleys from an 87 chevy. plans include a complete rebuild of the body, engine overhaul, lockers, possibly a 4" lift, and custom interior. I plan to start taking it all apart next week.

I have a '69 K-5 with 6" of Rancho lift, 35's, a mild built 350 with stainless 2.5" exhaust, TH350, NP203 - part time, front disks. I'd like to go to 3/4 ton with cross over steering and maybe some 38's some day. Of course, all this changes on a daily basis with every post I read, every magazine I see and every truck I pass!

My 71 is pretty much done, so here's my next project. The body is rusty in bad spots (floor supports, floor, windshield post, etc.) so I'm lookin for an entire tub to set on it. It has a built 350, automatic, 3/4 ton axles and is basically just a mud machine right now. I would love to restore it eventually and am always looking at pics of blazers for ideas.
