Any of you guys running a newer 4x4 IFS frame.

Any of you guys running a newer 4x4 Independant Front Suspension frame with your older bodies?
Did you guys run into any problems besides body mounts?
any problems with the torsion bar suspension?

Thanks,
Bryan

Re: Any of you guys running a newer 4x4 IFS frame.

I don't know anybody that has done this. I would assume that the wheel base is going to be different, as well as the high/low points on the frame, frame width, etc... It will be a cascading ball of wax trying to work out all the kinks in such a project. I'd just get an original frame, but if you find anybody that has done it, I'd be interested in seeing it.

Not to worried about cutting the frame length and brackets to fit, just wanted to make there wasn't anything real major.

I was hoping with a newer frame i could get a better ride, brakes, and 4x4.

Can't remember his name but there is a member doing this with a 2001 frame and a duramax.

The old solid axle setup is far more durable, serviceable, and simple.
