Started the 63 Today
First time letting it get up to heat since 1991.
Exciting day I still have a lot to do before I take it out. But starts right up with the key. The water pump is very loud. No Clutch I did the wheel cylinders a few months back, but I have not installed the master cylinder yet. Few other odds I need to do as well. Finish the wiring. The wiring harness I bought is not long enough to each the. Some soldering and heat shrink will fix that. It will be a while, but took a big step Today. Hope you all are doing well.

Re: Started the 63 Today
My father bought this in the 80s. A guy broke down in front of our house and offered to sell it. Last November, Dad passed it down to me.
Since then, I've replaced the brake wheel cylinders, shoes, and hardware. I’ve also started installing a new wiring harness, replaced the fuel tank, and temporarily placed the new one in the toolbox. To improve the fuel system, I installed an electric fuel pump to assist the mechanical one. My '56 has an electric pump too, and I love how it starts right up with just the turn of the key. I also added a fuel return line to prevent any fuel boiling during the hot Texas summers. Someone before my Dad replaced the 6 cylinder for a SBC 350. It has a 3 speed manual floor shift. It needs a lot of TLC

Re: Started the 63 Today
The picture looks better for patina, it is really rough.
