Fan Squeels
almost everytime i turn my heater fan on it squeels pretty loud and will slowly quiet down, and it will do this at any speed. but if i were to turn it off for a little then on it will turn on with no squeeling. im guessing my fan is reaching the end of its life span, it has been doing this for quite a while now.

Take the motor off and lay it on the workbench. Drill a tiny hole in the bump on the housing right over then end of the motor shaft and dribble thin oil into the hole. This will lubricate the dry bushing and stop the squeel. Cover the hole with a dab of silicone when finished.

I did that,but did it in place and it worked well.I relubed it every year for about 3 years.

That will work if the bushing is not already destroyed. My fan shaft wobbled a lot when I pulled it out.
For me, if I am going to the trouble of removing the fan completely, I will replace it no matter what. The fan motor is only about $20 at AutoZone. The part number is PM-102. This motor moves more air than the old motor did in 12 years. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...t=Blower+motor

I forgot to add, when you pull the blower motor, reach in the hole as far as you can and pull out the crap. Leaves,seeds and other junk could be blocking the passage. I connected (ain't duck tape great?) a tiny vac hose onto my shop vac and wiggled it all around in there. Plug the hose twice. Could part of the reason I have way more air flow. The heater will melt you in the dead of winter.
