Dash issue HELP..Send Photos

Hello,

I bought my truck from a guy trying (and I mean TRYING) to make wood dash bezel, glove box and center dash out of wood, BUT unfortunately I didn't like it and am in the process of trying to figure out what I will do for the center dash area (where the ignition, heater control, air vent, etc is located). It was completely cut out...could you guys send some photos of what you did in the center section of the dash OR make suggestions.

I was thinking of having someone fabricate a piece that I could fasten back in there (I would make a template of an original).

Thanks!!

It would be easier and probably faster to just replace the complete dash, then you can go air or non air. And there has been several for sale here in the parts section.

You can cut out the old dash and put in another one...it's spot welded in, and if you're gonna keep the truck, that's what I'd do.

Without having to pull the windshield to get to the spot welds. Another option is to cut the dash under the pad and then weld in a new front

Find a donor truck. Cut the dash under the pad, remove the bolts on either side, and replace the whole front piece. Then, if you still want wood bezels, just use your glove box door as a pattern for the new gauge bezel, and downsize it just a bit for the glove box door insert. If you find a good dash, you won't need the middle pc at all.

That might be a little more in-depth than you were looking forward too. But it should be a relatively easy project since the dash pad will hide any imperfections that might be left behind.

It sounds like your truck might have been a donor at one time?
