67/68 blue arm rest ?

Ok so I have a 68 c10 that must have can with 67 skinny still arm rests. I went to go look for new ones and all I can find are grey and black ones.

Can these be dyed back to the blue or are they junk ?

Has anyone done this before?

Re: 67/68 blue arm rest ?

The '67 stye arm rests aren't reproduced in colors. They were all dyed from the factory anyway. There are quality fabric dyes that will hold up just fine.Finding N.O.S. in mint condition is always best.

Believe it or not, they are actually reproduced. Unfortunately, they are only available in black or grey. I think that style was used from '64 - '67. The original ones in my '67 were fawn (kind of a greenish gray), so I went with gray ones...they look pretty good. LMC and brothers both have them in black. I can probably dig up where I got them in gray, but it might take a day or two.

Re: 67/68 blue arm rest ?

Sorry, I obviously didn't read the thread very well before I posted. I bet you could dye the gray ones to look decent. The gray color on the reproduced ones is kind of dark, so I think you might would have to go with a little darker shade of blue if you dye them. I considered trying to spray mine with Krylon, but I decided they looked pretty good the way they were.

Can an individual order direct from Dashes Direct or do we need to go thru a distributor? I ask because when i go to their website I don't see prices or a way to "select" to purchase.

Is there a phone number? Try calling them. As far as I know they sell retail.
