I'm working on a 67 Donor Cab with the small rear window. There was a discussion on the Forum about fabricating a rear window setup that would open downward. I gave it some thought and came up with this. Take the top pieces from two old doors and weld them together for the top surround. This gives you the channel for the glass to home into. Now, the straight piece of the door top that is in front of the Vent window could possibly be fabricated to be the drop down side channels. An old electric set up out of a station wagon may provide the mechanism and motor. Of course the glass will be custom.
As for Rain intrusion the top edge of the donor doors can be fabricated to be the bottom edge of the window. Inside the Cab will be a removable Panel to prevent rain from entering the interior of the truck Cab. Drain holes will be in the bottom of this closed area. Sorry I dont know a whole lot about that master fabrication your talking about, although it sounds like it would be really cool if you could actually pull that off... I just wanted to say hi from out in East Hampton, you're the closest member I've heard of to me besides my good friend who is also from EH.

A lot of guys were talking about the fabrication involved to make an upper channel. I think using two doors is probably the best Idea I have heard yet. Do it up and post a very detailed build thread. A lot of people want to know how to do it, but not many have.

My Brain is starting to overheat cause I can't stop thinking about this idea. My latest thought is to cut the inside panel from a large doored car door. This would be installed in the inside of the Cab to actuate the Window. Simple! Al W.

My idea was to find a wrecked toyota with the roll down window and graft the whole upper yota cab window and cab into the back of my 72..

That would also be a concideration. Main drawback would be extracting those Darn Japanese Cooties!!
