I believe 71 was first year for disc, too bad because I junked my 71 c20 frame with everything. Not sure on lowering though.

Take a look at this.

You'll also need a c20 master cilynder from a 71 or 72 and a porportioning valve. If you'd like I can describe my set up with what I have for my 69c20.

Re: 69 C20 front end ?

I did an 8-lug disc brake conversion on my 69 C20 last year. I was not sure what way to go. I was undecided between a CPP kit or Performance Online (POL). I decided to go with the POL kit. CPP makes a good product, but I heard many negative comments on this forum about their customer service. I was very pleased with the POL kit.

Or you could find an 8 lug square body truck and swap out the complete front suspension/brakes/engine crossmember. Not many bolts to remove the crossmember from the frame. You roll out the drum setup and then roll in the disc setup. You now have disc brakes and the higher quality ball joints. I figured if I did that I would have to replace some stuff on it anyway so I went with the new kit. Sorry I don't have pictures of it completed. I should take some.

Re: 69 C20 front end ?

The guy that owned my truck before me swapped it out to disks from a mid 80s c20 but kept the old a arms. I'm assuming he switched ball joint and spindles from the newer truck but I'm not sure.
