Not to hack your thread.....I said forget the stocker, it's too big. I bought a Grant Classic Nostalgia wheel from summit....was about $105 w/ installation kit.

Sorry to raise this thread from the dead, but I have the same steering wheel (Grant 967) and I can't figure out how the horn cap attaches. I can't push the little indents on the inside of the cap past the fiber disc after the disc is bolted to the column because there is nothing behind the disc to support it while pushing down on the cap. Am I stupid, or just dumb? I'd post pics but I lost my camera...

I believe you know what everyone else does, you're doing it right, it's just a poor design. I will never buy another Grant just for that reason. They make a more expensive model of Grant wheel that has a better system.

Since this was bumped back to the top, that's the exact wheel I want for my truck... with it being a smaller diameter, is it harder to steer a truck that does NOT have power steering?

What is the GRT 967's diameter?

The GRT 967 is a 15" wheel. For what it's worth, the wheel it's replacing is a Grant GT 13" wheel, and if anything, I think it's easier to steer with the smaller wheel because your arms don't flail around so much going lock-to-lock.

(oops... I missed the non-power steering part... yeah, it'll be harder...)

yes indeed the smaller the wheel the harder it is to turn without power steering just don't go with a 10 inch wheel or something and you'll be ok

I guess I shouldn't ask a question I already know the answer too

I guess what I meant to say was... does it FEEL harder to turn compared to a stock wheel with the diameters being similar, but the grant being slightly smaller?

Here is another customer who purchased that ssame grant wheel above.
It's not installed yet, however it is going on a flaming river column, not the stock.

I don't mind turning those small diameter wheels until I have a cool one in my hand. Seriously though, the Stude has manual steering with a small wheel, two handed it ain't nothing but a thing!

my truck has a small wheel not sure on size and manual steering and its a pain in the but when backing up or making really sharp turns but while driving barely notice
