1. Found these shocks on my truck and I was wondering if they looked like original equipment?

2. What aftermarket shocks are people running on their trucks? I am hoping for some reasonable comfort, but i also want the truck to handle well. Any brand suggestions?

I can't really tell if they're stock. If you're looking for a good replacement I've had great success with ranchos.

Bubba,(always wanted to meet a southerner named BUBBA)I had Monroe gas charged on a truck.Unfortunately the ones I replaced were so bad anything would have been an improvement.I went with them because they were resonably priced and had a lifetime warranty.I don't know how much difference they made but they lated several years and in fact are still on the truck.It is in pieces so I doubt they are good anymore.Unless you plan on going to a high end (read expensive) shock or drastically changing the suspension or ride height I would suggest a quality name brand replacement.I think I gave about $25.00 a piece for them in about 95.
Just some info to help you decide.I like the lifetime warranty stuff since I tend to drive the wheels off of one then repair it.I knew a guy who had gone thru about 4 sets of brake shoes on a Camaro since he bought lifetime ones.They think you'll lose the receipt or trade cars and they'll be off the hook.

Panel - name ain't really bubba. might be fun, though. just what my dad called me since we moved to Tennessee about 13 years ago (it was the best move we ever made and brought me to my true home in the south). of course, living in the chapel hill/durham area isn't really the south. more like south new york/jersey.

they are original, or factory replacements from back in the day.

Those look just like the ones on my truck now. I knew mine were old & toasted, but didn't think they were original. Oh well, no sentiment here. They get chucked along with all the other suspension wear parts asap.

Jay __________________ You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
